Stoltz Industries RP-4 4” Marine Keel Roller with 5/8” Shaft – Colors May Vary , Yellow

I bought this keel roller to replace the actual 10 inch OEM one on my trailer. What I received was significantly shorter than 10 inches. I contacted the manufacturer via email to find out if they offered shims or inserts that make the keel roller fit within the "fixed" 10 inch bracket on my trailer. I wrote:"I got the 10 inch stern roller with 5/8 shaft to replace my old 10 inch keel roller. I find that the Stoltz roller is about a half inch shorter than the space available for the 10 inch roller I was replacing. I'm not sure if I should use stainless or nylon washers to fill the extra space, or if there's a Stoltz product that's available to solve the problem. Let me know: I'm happy to do whatever you suggest. Thanks..."The full response I got was:"This is the first time in 45 years that I've heard anybody mention that issue. Carl Stoltz"While it's clear that Stoltz Industries doesn't care enough to accurately measure or label their products, it's their customer service that makes me eager to buy their competitors' products instead.

I had a pair of standard (rubber?) black keel rollers and they couldn't handle my 22 feet deck boat. Both rollers split in two and left the boat's keel with a bunch of black marks everywhere. The price tag was still on the black rollers. They were junk stuff. I upgraded to this Stoltz Rollers and couldn't be happier. Easy to install, decent price (from Amazon), and high quality. One less thing to worry about when owning a boat. Don't skimp out on rollers since the price (from Amazon) isn't that expensive and you can only work on the roller when the boat is off the trailer. That time should be spent enjoying the boat, not working on the keel roller.

Bought this to replace the old black one on our 1995 Mastercraft trailer. So far, so good. Have the bow roller of this same Stoltz brand. I highly recommend buying push caps/pal nuts that secure this to the shaft. Beware: the ones you will take off the old roller/shaft will not be reusable & finding these at a hardware store was a challenge. I bought 2 of the 5/8" caps and only replaced/used 1. Getting the old cap off wasn't easy, nor was getting a new one back on.

Ordered 4 @ 8-inch. Was sent 4 RP-7s. Measured them and only 7.25-inches. and they didn't come with the pin as stated in the write up. Reordered. Got 4 @ RP-8. Measured these and still 7.25-inches. Measured my bracket again. True 8-inch inside measurement. I just can't believe a supposed 8-inch roller should be 3/4-inch shorter than the inside measurement of the bracket? Now I need to buy spacer washers so these things don't slop back and forth? I'm going to send these back and just go to a good marine supply store and get the right ones and the pins to fit since these didn't have pins although the description said they were included

This is the best of the best, strong and works excellent, I’ll never buy a black one again, probably won’t ever need to, this one will last
