Tips for installation
Just finished the install. Returned the first set because I thought it was defective. If you’re having trouble removing the handle, change the lock setting. For example, if the handle won’t come off and it’s locked, unlock it. If it’s unlocked, lock it. The handle should then come off.

Exact replacement
Replaced an older door lock with one that unlocks when you go out so that you don’t lock yourself out. Works as expected!

Just what I was looking for
I've always bought schlage door hardware and these did not disappoint. They installed very easily. The handles can be reversed by using the key and supplied pin ring. Installed in a few minutes and functions as expected. Has a great looking finish. Expect a lifetime of use from this product.

Beautiful lockset for retro fit or replacement
Lock sets wear out in time and this is no exception. The lockset is easy to install but new keys will need to be made. This is a beautiful door lock and I am replacing an existing one with a new one. It comes with a new latch and strike plate too. The inside door latch wears out too and must be replaced. All easy to replace or retrofit.

Exact replacement but not as heavy as the original.
When we bought our house we were not given a key for the front door handle; we just had to use the dead bolt key pad to open. For more security we wanted to also lock the handle when we go. We found it to be more cost effective to replace the handle rather than have a lock smith rekey the original. It has been a few years since our door was manufactured and, although the replacement fit perfectly, it is much lighter than the original.
