WELL worth every penny! Saves you money and TIME.
I installed this on my 2004 FLSTFi in June while I was upgrading my oil pump and cam plate to the S.E. system. I purchased my bike new in 2003 and every 5000 miles I would inspect and adjust the primary chain as needed. Lets face it, this is a pain to adjust properly via the inspection cover. To do it right, you must remove the primary cover. At 38,000 miles, I have had to do this procedure 5 times (the dealer did the first one and a private shop did the second). The first 1000 miles after service tend to be great save for the last two times. I could not find the sweet spot. The chain was between two steps on the adjustment. It was not "stretched", it was the wear on the OEM pad. Since I was going to have to replace it, I finally bit the bullet and installed this beauty.WOW, the last 1100 miles have been amazing! Every shift is smoother, finding neutral is a breeze. I don't think it was ever as easy as it is now, even after the dealer and a certified HD trained mechanic who owns his own shop had adjusted it. This simple system eliminates the "in between" adjustment positions because it is not dependent on serrations for the final position, the pad floats on a spring.Being it self adjust, I don't have to check it as often saving me one inspection cover gasket every 5000 miles and I don't have to keep adjusting it, saving me the cost of the more expensive primary cover gasket every 10,000 miles.I ended up installing it with no spacers to get the correct distance and for mine I did have to grind off, actually shorten the plate for it to fit into the place (No problem). I would install this on any ride that didn't have one. Well worth it. As for how long the pad last, can't say right now. Others claim it has lasted at least 30K. I found, you can buy new pads for this and it's really no more expensive then stock pads. My stock pad, at 37K was worn enough for me to replace it so either way, 30K for the M6 pad or 37K for the OEM, they are going to be replaced around the same time. The difference is, all those gaskets and adjustments leading up to the 30K or 37K. $130 in gaskets staying OEM or $90 for this baby using $40 in gaskets that are required to change the oil anyhow. No brainer. This way I save a bunch of time in labor to boot. This should come pre-installed by H-D instead of that over tightening, non floating hydraulic one they came up with.

Seems to be working correctly
No extra noise. Not difficult to install. Only put on a dozen of miles so far so good.

Hayden M6 BT01 on 06 street glide. Well worth the $
Have an 06 street glide that had a manual primary chain adjust. Seen the Hayden M6 for years. My bike recently turned 50k miles. When I tuned it up I decided to try it. Installation was a breeze other then the dealer gave me a 07 primary gasket instead of 06. Worked as advertised. Quieted the clunking sound when shifting into 1rst gear, Finding neutral easier & smoother shifting all true. Very happy so far

Decent upgrade
Installed in 05 ultra. Instructions can be a bit to follow. I looked up videos on you tube that helped. Have gap to exact setting recommended and for the most part my shifts are alot smoother and crisp. I still get the occasional rougher shift or heavy clunk into first and couple times neutral was difficult to find. Ended up shutting bike off to get neutral. As of now I've only got 75 miles on since install so hopefully settles in a bit better.

Great Addition to long term maintenance
2005 Electra Glide Trike ... It is amazing the difference it makes .... no more clank, going into gear ... just click .... neutral is easy to find ..... installation was pretty easy thanks to the guys pictures I looked at didn't make his mistake ... (put the assembly under the chain BEFORE tightening down the back plate torque screws) no more slapping sound or jerky feeling when coasting down hill. Contacted manufacture to ask a question, very quick response. It was on needing a spacer ... as mine was near perfect without one, they said maintain the 5/8~ or so even if you don't need the spacer. Good addition to my Harley, very pleased so far only about 100 miles but HAPPY. Oh and didn't need a new gasket ....... Should also say I changed to Amsoil full synthetic 20-50 and added about 3 oz. extra as was recommended.January 7 now 1200 miles very happy ......

was missing one of the springs
I've used these in the past and love them but had to go back with the stock shoe as there wasn't enough time to wait on extra missing spring. I'll get another one next clutch service. I guess look in the boxes better next time befre sealing and sending out. Other than that, awesome product and IMHO much better than HD's ratchet style guessing work tensioner.
