Initial observations
I've owned espresso machines ranging from $89 to $2500 while I don't expect much from a $111 machine there are a couple of design choices that could have been better. So let's get into it.The design is very simple but nice enough to have in your kitchen without wanting to put it away when guests come over. It isn't as nice as any of the actual Italian made machines but it isn't as frumpy as a Hamilton-Beach either.First the materials used are stainless steel and plastic. The plastic is of a decent quality much the same as some more expensive machines so that is good. The drip pan is decently sized and even has a float in it to tell you when the pan is getting full much like the Gaggia classic which is a simple but nice edition. The water reservoir is of decent size and seems sturdy but does have a very odd lid that slides up and does not move to the side meaning you need to put your faucet between the reservoir and the lid to fill it.It has a 53mm portafilter which is what you will find on any of these lower end machines and there are no gimmicks about it. It produced a decent shot right out of the box so I have no issues with it.The frothing wand rotates on a single plane meaning you will have to hold the milk up to it while steaming. This is pretty normal for this price range but strange when considering other features they did spend money on, but more on that later. The steam didn't seem excessive but it was very hot and didn't take too long to steam milk, and the froth was very thick. This is a win as many machines at this price point have terrible frothers and or take forever to steam milk. The warming tray on the top is not just a "for looks" thing, it is built in and does get hot during operation meaning that your shot glasses will warm up if left on top. A simple thing but a nice touch. Now for the weird. It has a temperature gauge. It looks nice, but really doesn't tell you much other than the machine is at temperature. My though is that they saw them on more expensive machines and decided to add it because it looks cool but anyone who has owned a more expensive machine will tell you that the pressure gauge is much more important than the temperature gauge. All of that is neither here nor there when you consider that they could have spent that money on a universal joint for the steaming wand so that you could set your milk down while frothing, or a three way solenoid to drain the portafilter after making a shot so that you could throw away grounds instead of coffee soup, or even a flow meter that allows you to push the "make espresso" button and measures out one or two shots of hot water through the portafilter. While I do have that one design nitpick really the machine works well for the amount of money I paid. It does remind me of other Chinese products where they add unnecessary "features" for no discernible reason and makes me wonder what other strange choices they might have made. (I'll revisit this if it fails quickly or in a few months after I've been using it for a while)So here is the summary:Looks nice. Good materials choice. Steams well. Good shot. Heated top tray. Strange temperature gauge.

Excellent coffeemaker
We’ve had this coffeemaker for only 2 days, so I can give an initial reaction only. In a word: WOW. Our Cuisinart coffeemaker finally gave out. We had been happy with it, but using the same coffee in THIS machine resulted in a better brew. Noticeably smoother, and just the right strength—you can choose the strength level, but we like our first guess. As promised, it brews the pot (enough to fill our thermal carafe) very quickly. A day later, I got an email from the company with an offer to answer any questions. I rated “ease of use” as 4 stars just because the pot needs to be totally upside down to get out the last drop, and the water container is a little narrow to reach in for drying (but you CAN dry it, an excellent feature). Those are truly minor, but I mention them.

Love the coffee maker
I'd say this coffee maker is the best I have ever used. It's easy to use, since there is just only one button. Click, and it will brew a pot of 40 ounces coffee quickly. The taste of the coffee is great. I mean compare to those coffee machine I've used before, I love the taste the most. The warming plate is able to keep the coffee hot for hours, which is a HUGE plus! I usually finish a pot of coffee before lunch, and the taste remains the same! Cleaning can be simple as well, just use a filter paper and throw it away after using the machine. Well, overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase.

Not the best design
Lots of cream extraction in coffee which I like, but coffee taste watered down and not strong at all compared to the mr. Coffee I had before. Maybe due to the fact that there isn't a preset coffee amount so the amount you make varies on the cup you use to brew. Also you have to be looking at it at all times if not it will just continue brewing till you stop it. Bad design in my opinion,,and only a single brew filter size so if you want more coffee or less you waste coffee or have to empty filter and add more coffee to brew a larger about for more than one person. I will return it for a mr. Coffee.

Stopped pumping water at sufficient pressure
Things were great until they weren’t. It’s been about 9 months and I can no longer make espresso. The water pressure just stopped being sufficient enough to brew. I just have a whirring noise and tiny droplets coming out. Very disappointed.
