Great book for the uninspired cooks
We originally gave this book to my dad when he needed to cook for himself more. He loved it! He gifted the book to me when I went to college and I used it quite a bit as I learned how to cook. We decided to give this book to my grandma as she has been running out of inspiration to cook. She was happy to receive this book and was surprised that it featured food items that she already had in her pantry. My only complaint is that the recipes have 3-4 main ingredients, and then have a few other ingredients listed in smaller print. Maybe this means that you only need the 4 main ingredients, but can jazz up the meal by including the ingredients in the fine print?

Perfect for Transition from Teen to Grownup
I bought this book for my son who is 19 and is always walking in the house and asking what is there to eat and if there is nothing immediately there, he'll run off to McDonalds or gripe about starving. I told him one day, "son, you have to figure out at least 5 or 6 things you can cook so you can be independent one day". I found this book on Amazon and bought it at first as kind of a joke of our conversation. I gave it to him for Christmas and he actually loved it! He's made 2 or 3 things already and they are very good! I love this book, because men are very visual and don't want to read instructions. It has pictures of exactly what you need and the steps to cook it are simple and straight forward. If you have a bachelor or young man in your life that needs some nudging to learn some sort of cooking on their own, this is a good book to give them. It would be a GREAT book to give to any college student, not just males, because most everything is very affordable, and the best thing, all is needed is a microwave.

A Timely Style of Cooking
While I have shelves of cookbooks, the A Man, A Can series caught my eye because of the COVID-19 shutdown. Grocery shopping is still a scavenger hunt. I’ve relied on my pantry more than a little. Because these recipes use a lot of shelf stable ingredients, they serve as guidelines for replenishing my stock. The recipes are real, not gimmicks. The variety means there’s something for everyone. The preserved food can be accumulated over time. The fresh ingredients are pretty available even now.So I look for canned gravies and dried pasta, tuna and beans. The next round of shortages will find me ready.

slightly decieving
book was adorable, I was surprised to find that although the product summary(description) did not mention how many ingredients the recipes need that are not from a can nor pantry items.I purchased this book for a gift and thought it would be nice to include the ingredients to make at least one of the recipes to complete a gift basket, however I was not able to buy the ingredients for even one recipe in the book for they all used at least some sort of fresh produce and refrigerated item.Nice idea but description should mention that there are a lot of fresh items used which ultimately makes for a healthier and better meal but also does not lend itself to a bachelor making a meal in a microwave from a pantry as the description suggests.

Perfect for a son-in-law to learn to cook.
I bought the book for a son-in-law who tries but is all thumbs in the kitchen. The book is written like speaking to an absolute beginner. The pages are thick and easy to wipe clean. The recipe item pictures make the book super easy to follow. Now if only I could find one of these books called A man, a sponge, and the dishes. Or maybe A man, a brush, and the bathroom.

Easy gourmet-style meals...
Easier than the sister books: “A Man, Can, & Plan”... etc. A spiral bound binding would be better than the thick cardboard-like pages that this comes in. But no big deal...

Should be no stars
Completely unsuitable for the UK market. All the tins are American products, many without English equivalents. I'm not even sure if I can morally take it to a charity shop.

Good book, but ingredients are from US...
The book is very good. The recipes are easy, tasty and varied. The problem is that ingredients are brand specific and are not readily available out of the US.

Straight forward recipe book
This is great for someone with little to no disposable time or cooking experience. The recommended ingredients can easily be substituted for others and it's easy to follow along with the recipes. I bought it as a gift and I'd recommend it to anyone with little cooking knowledge, great gift for busy college students or anyone who doesn't have much time to spend cooking.

Definitely US Based & prepare to cook fresh meat in the Microwave
Bought this for my Canadian son, but most of the canned ingredients we don't get here. I don't agree that microwaving meat, like ground beef in the microwave is a reasonable option.I don't think I'd try any of these recipes.

Great gift !
My son works 14 hrs/day, doesn't leave much time for cooking a good meal. He was looking forwards to 'whipping-up' a few decent meals !! He is looking forwards to the other books in the series...
