Weaving Freeform Wire Jewelry: Step-by-Step Techniques, 20 Versatile Designs Paperback – November 19, 2013

I had the great fortune of actually taking a workshop with Kaska this past weekend. We made the dagger earrings, one of the more simple projects in the book.She is very detailed in her instructions on how to work with wire in this way and there are a lot of essential and helpful photographs in her book.I highly recommend this book if you are interested in tackling this new form of wire working.However, for literal beginners.. some of the projects are a bit advanced. the Dagger project is a completely doable project to start with and work other stuff from.It is all about patience and the desire to create incredible works of art.I am pretty much a beginner myself.. but I have been playing around with copper wire (much more affordable to start with). But my partner, he is a master jeweler and an artist and has done wire wrapping and other jewelry fabrication so he tackled a project (free form as the stones are unique and different) and he created a very beautiful piece (using 1/2 hard silver for the framing, no less!). He really enjoyed the book as well.buy this book!.. It is so worth it!

Awe snap! This book has such beautiful projects I hate to give only 3 stars. She has lots of good information in this book, so it is unfortunate that she missed a step. The first project in the book is a pair of earrings. Lovely design. But under Tools it lists Weaving, Metalworking, Finishing and Patina tools and supplies. My question is which ones? Then working with jump rings. Tips on opening and closing could be handy for people who have never done them. Making the spirals the book says to use a fine file. Why not round pliers and a size would be nice? If some of this is too detailed a process pointing us in a direction for more information would be helpful. I am sure you have some resources you could share. Maybe some youtube videos?? Please make some pertaining to this book. It would save me a lot of wire.

So I was in a mood to learn how to make wire jewelry, and bought at least - literally - a dozen books and went through them all for basic techniques, inspirations, etc.. and this is the only one I felt compelled to leave a positive review! Great instructions along with useful pictures. Really cute projects to make pieces that I actually want to wear! And the projects are just complicated enough to make it a rewarding challenge when you complete it!At the last few pages she posted a few more of her pieces... what pendant designs! I wish she would also have instructions for those!! Definitely will buy if this author writes more books on this subject!

I have no less than ten books related to working with wire, but this is the best I've seen. There is extensive information about every step of the processes, the designs are beautiful and unique, the instructions clear. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in making jewelry from wire, whether you have been doing it for years or you're just starting out.

Wire tutorial book Brand new

I am using this book for making wire wrapped jewelry.

I have been seed-beading for years but I'm new to wire weaving. I also bought Lisa Barth's book which is quite lovely, but this takes the technique to a whole new level. Great explanations and photos with a very thoughtful presentation of Ms. Firor's design considerations in the final project to encourage us in making our own creations. I'm planning on taking a class with the author this summer because no matter how good the book, IMO there is no substitute for a hands-on session with the teacher and I'm betting Ms. Firor is an excellent one!

I bought this book with two others in a bundle for a lower price. This wasn't the book I wanted because the design on the cover isn't appealing to me. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are several beautiful and interesting designs in the book, and the instructions are easy to understand. There is also a section that teaches how to make basic wire findings.

If i had more stars options, i would give this book like 10*******!! OMG the designs are just one dream after another, the author is a very talented gifted woman named Kaska Firor, I bought this book for the picture on the cover, it was such a beautiful piece, the real stuff in jewellery making. To put forth, it is not a easy book, these beautiful projects you cannot learn right away, it takes time and a lot of effort, it 's easy to get frustrated, it happens to me every now and then, but it is worth it, with dedication, loving the idea of being able to make such beautiful jewellery, things can be achieved, this woman is one hell of a designer. I am still learning the basic waving, but i can look it for hours, just being so immersed in her techniques trying to learn them, noticing the little details of her work, that she explains fully. I recommend this book honestly, to anyone who loves uniqueness and beauty, Absolutely exquisite!

I had been given a wire weaving book as a present but found the designs uninteresting and the instructions neverexplained what wire to use. This book has lots of exiting projects although suitable for a beginner. Lots ofinformation about wire,tools,beads etc., I would recommend it.

As a total beginner, there is probably not a single piece in this book which I am capable of making, but Wow - they are something to aspire to for sure!Beautiful pieces, and I want to have the skills one day to make them all.Really good explanations, with instructions of all the techniques used to make each piece.I think this is the best wire jewellery making book I've seen.

Ffabulous book. Loads of techniques and tips and the projects are gorgeous with very clear tutorials. Its the best wire weave book i have. I even told my friends and they bought one too. And went on to make jewellery from the book the same as i.did. Thank you so much.

If you are a beginner thinking of taking up wire weaving this book has really good diagrams and instructions and some amazing wire work pieces. The projects in this book may be quite advanced for beginners, but all you need is practice. A great book to have for reference.
