The ZWILLING SharpBlock incorporates KIS technology. This self-sharpening knife block protects your knives from damage and sharpens smooth blades all by itself.

How does KIS technology work?

Each of the 3 slots for the smooth-bladed knives has two integrated ceramic whetstones that have been set at the perfect sharpening angle. Each time you pull a knife out of the block or put it back in, the blade sharpens.

Which knives are included in the self-sharpening knife block?

The SharpBlock from the Gourmet series includes a paring and garnishing knife (10 cm), a utility knife (13 cm), a carving knife (20 cm), a chef’s knife (20 cm) and a bread knife (20 cm). These also come with multi-purpose scissors.

What’s the best way to clean the knives?

The kitchen knives are dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing to prolong their lifespan. The best way to clean the knives is to use lukewarm water, a mild detergent and a scratch-free dishcloth or sponge.
