This is a beautifully crafted small teapot that is meant to brew tea according to the Chinese Gongfu Tea Ceremony. Brewing of tea in smaller portions allows for intimate and social sharing of tea among 2 or 3 friends in amounts small enough to allow quick cooling of the tea for consumption. Of course, it can also be used for a single tea drinker seeking a respite from a busy day. The grapevine design is hand-painted in the "blue and white" design popular in the Ching Dynasty. The small teapot holds up to 7.5 ounces of tea per brewing and measures 5 inches from spout to handle, 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 3 5/8 inches in height.
