Useful
I don’t use this in the kitchen, but it would do well for that. I use it with students. I’m a tutor and I work with two students that have difficulties keeping on task. I am not a task master, and I always try and keep my time enjoyable yet effective with them. With this timer, I don’t need to redirect their attention. I pair it with a small reward, so if they get their work done before the timer goes off, they get the reward. When their attention starts to wonder, I don’t need to be the one forcing them back to schoolwork, because they end up hearing the ticking sound and saying, “Oh no, my time!” and refocus themselves. I will note that one of the students has ADD, and it works for her. But anyone who knows or works with students with attention disorders knows it’s very individual what works with them. I have a nephew with ADHD and I’ve helped him with schoolwork before. I would never use this for him because the ticking sound would be way to distracting. It just depends on the student and creating an environment that works for them in a positive way. But the ticking is loud enough to notice, but not too loud. My student and I can talk and work out problems without being drowned out. The timer ding is probably loud enough to hear in another room, but not scary loud.

Easy to use if you just understand how they work
I honestly prefer to use this over telling Google Home to set up a timer or setting one on my phone. I feel like this takes way less time and effort. As with most of these wind up cooking timers, you have to make sure you turn a full turn so that it'll ring. The magnetic back sticks well on my fridge and does not budge when I wind it. The sound is loud enough to hear in a different room but not too loud to be annoying. The only issue I have is there were a few times where the timer did not start (there was no ticking).. not sure if I just didn't wind it up all the way but now I make sure that I hear an audible ticking after I set the timer.

Didn't work not even one time!
I got this timer for my mom, because she cooks and walks away..scary. so excited with this timer that tried several times it never worked, so disappointed because it had good reviews, maybe I was the lucky one to get a bad one. I will never buy it again. I received today tomorrow I'm send it back.

handy
Such a handy kitchen timer. The magnet on the back is super strong. I keep it in my fridge and it doesnt slide around at all. The instructions are very clear and make it easy to use. The ringing sound is loud enough to hear without being annoyingly too loud

Best timer ever.
Easy, just loud enough for me but not so much as to disturb othrrxd , no batteries or power needed, just rotate dial. After more than s year using in a wet area, stillno rust. Highly recommend. if you need to time in full minute increments up to an hour. If you need to time by seconds, you will need another timer.

Warning: looks intuitive to use, but isn't.
You have to wind it all the way to the full hour setting, then wind it back to the time you want it to go off at. If you don't do this, it won't make any sound when it hits 0.

Good but ...
There is nothing "wrong" with this timer. It looks good and is easy to use. The magnet is stong. But ... I wish the ring was louder.

Attractive and so far accurate
Why does Amazon always ask you to rate thickness? This is a timer, not a winter coat. It is attractive, easy to use, and seems accurate. The part that needs to be thick is thick, and the part that needs to be thin is thin.
