Monroe OESpectrum 37318 Suspension Shock Absorber for Ford Escape

These shocks are a direct replacement for oe shocks. I verified fitment with Monroe, and these are rated for both engine sizes, the 2.5l and the 3.0lThe toughest part of the install was removing the interior in the cargo area to get access to the top bolt. The whole job. Start to finish was less than an hour. I've had them in for about six weeks and I'm pleased with their performance. I've towed my landscape trailer three times and it is way more stable than with the old shocks. I would recommend these shocks if you need to replace the factory original rear shocks.

As far as the product goes, it's 5 stars. Quick and easy install on a 2010 Ford Escape XLT. Ride seems pretty smooth. The reason I only gave 4 stars was based on the shipping. I ordered two and only got one correct shock and something else completely different for the second. Did the return process and they did make it right getting me the correct shock, but it pushed all my plans back by a week due to the delay.

These shocks are easy to install ona Mercury Mariner (same as a Ford Escape). I watched a youtube video on how to change the shocks to see how to remove the interior panels, and it was a piece of cake. After removing the interior panels, you only need to remove 2 bolts. One word of caution: don't remove the plastic restraining strap until you're ready to install; then use a heavy cord looped around the top and bottom to keep these shock compressed, then install the bottom bolt and release the cord to allow the shock to extend into the upper mounting hole. Once in the upper mounting hole, slip on the rubber bushing, washer and nut. Have 110K+ miles on my Mariner, and these shocks certainly improved the ride. No more bouncing up and down after going over a bump.

Used these to replace worn out shocks on a 2009 Ford Escape with 128k miles. Aside from the nut connecting the shocks to the wheels, it came with all necessary parts.After installing these shocks, my car handled and rode much better. I no longer need to slow down to a crawl to prevent groceries in the back from flying around during turns.

easy install, 2011 escape

I was initially impressed with the shocks and was excited to change them on my car. It was cold weather when I just got them so I couldn’t change them outdoors right away and had to wait. Fast forward to today, the one I installed on the right side works great, however, the left side keeps banging and is clearly not working properly. I’m very disappointed considering the price I paid for them. Since there is only a 1 month return policy and I only installed them today, I’m at 1.5 months and can’t even return the defected one. Very upsetting.

Very easy to install, no need to jack the car up, ride improved on Escape 2009.
