These are a wee pricy. Bought mine while in the Orient at a discount. With the web creating access to everyone, the price should come down!!! Anyhow, I was told directly by the manufacturer that these are not meant for mountain biking. I tried the Trigon as a replacement for my dual leaf spring style carbon seat post made by a competitor. That style was a wee bit more comfy but the major drawback with it is the leaf springs would slip no matter what I did, short of gluing them together- which causes too much stress and then a brake. The Trigon seat post is unique. If you don't want play while pedaling, this is the ticket. When you first mount it, you will think it has no 'give' as it is very stiff. It is a bit forgiving like a suspension seat post, minus the dip... plus the movement is more natural, in a subtle backward arc. It also is much lighter and more responsive. I confess I did mount it on my carbon hardtail mountain bike and have ridden gravel roads and even some nearby single track. I do not sit on my saddle over rough terrain (duh), but have been surprised by an occasional rock hiding in the shadows...the seat post did its job and gave hardly a squeak. A lot less troublesome than other types of 'suspension' posts. As it is mostly constructed of carbon, I felt better about putting it on my carbon frame. I had to experiment with mounting profile, proper tightening torque, etc. But really, no troublesome issues. This seems to be perfect for gravel grinders and mixed road use to take a little bit of the edge off. Well worth it. Weighs about 200 gms.

Great-looking post! Has a bit of flex, which takes the edge off. But seriously overpriced. Look around, you can find it for less.
