Usage with Gel Nail Polish Apply two thin layers of gel polish and cure per the gel’s instructions in between layers. Black works best but you can use any color. Apply a thin layer of any gel top coat, cure per gel instructions but don’t over cure. Put a small amount of powder on the nail and buff with your fingertip, silicone tool, eye shadow applicator or brush. Continue gently buffing until the mirror effect is achieved over the entire nail. Wipe excess powder with a dry brush or a clean finger. Apply a thin layer of gel top coat once more, make sure to seal free edge and sides to prevent from peeling and cure per the gel’s instructions. Usage with Regular Nail Polish (last 1-2 days) Apply two thin coats of regular nail polish, let dry between coats. Black polish works the best but you can use any color. (Optional step) Apply a top coat to smooth the nail surface. Let it dry to the touch but leave a little soft where it can still be dented. Put a small amount of powder on the tip of your finger and gently buff it into your nail. Continue gently buffing until the mirror effect is achieved over the entire nail. Wipe excess powder with a dry brush or a clean finger. Apply a transparent peel off base coat, let it dry and then apply a regular top coat. You can also just use a layer of water based top coat over powder.

Not like picture, but still pretty
It is a lot of work and does not look like pictured! Definitely use a gel polish if you are using this. I tried this 3 times and this was the best method I found: after nails dry, rub a bit of rubbing alcohol on your nail. Then apply powder. You must rub back and forth with a generous amount of powder. It may stay on if nothing rubs on the nails, but it will rub off eventually. If you apply a top coat you will dull the shine and it will look grainy. When applying a top coat try to not wipe any dust from your finger onto your nail or else it will still look grainy. Personally, I feel like it is not worth the money. But even though it is not perfect it does look OK. The first picture is the right after powder is applied, the second is after top coat, and the third is without top coat after about an hour and a half watching tv.

Definitely gives that silver chrome effect!
You definitely get the best effects with nail powders using a gel top coat (second picture) but it can also be done with regular polish and a water based top coat (first picture). This silver chrome is one of the best that I have used and whilst some may think that you don't get a lot of product, because you use so little, it definitely goes a very long way. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants that reflective silver chrome finish.

Best holo powder out there!
I was hesitant to buy this powder because yes, it is pretty far out of my price range, but I had heard so many good reviews from many nail bloggers so I just had to have it! The package arrived intact and on time which I was very happy with. Looking at the powder inside the little jar, it looks like barely any is in there but don’t worry, just a little dip of the finger tip can cover at least one nail! I have found a variety of polishes to work as a base for this powder but the most successful ones are the Essie polishes in the twisty bottles (they might be gel but the kind with no lamp). And you just lightly rub the powder to a mostly dry base (could be slightly tacky to the touch) which creates a beautiful linear holo coverage! Many topcoats will ruin the shinyness of the holo so I have found that putting a peel-off base coat (such as the one from UNT) on top of the holo powder and THEN put whatever kind of topcoat to seal it all in. Tip: try putting a thick base coat on underneath the base you will use for the powder so your nail is nice and smooth!

Not worth it to me
38 dollars for 1gm that really came out to the color of somewhat rainbowy silver? It's my second time trying it and I like the color but it DOES NOT come out to what the picture looks like. This is the holographic powder from what's up nails. Maybe I did it incorrectly. Base coat, black nail polish, buffer in then gel like top coat. (Bc I am not a fan of gel) Let me know if I did something wrong but my experience with it as of today is not worth the price at all. Not worth that much at all (again that's my experience and my opinion) There are pictures of it next to the cheaper (amazing) what's up mirror chrome that works amazing. They are both new only used twice and you can see the difference a gram makes. Unsatisfied with the holo. Completely satisfied with the mirror chrome.

Not bad, black chrome is hard to mirror though
This review is only for the black chrome mirror powder specifically. I found it to just be so-so in quality relative to other types and brands of powders I've purchased. So far I've tried this one (black chrome mirror), silver chrome mirror, green opalescent, gold sparkle, chameleon green / purple, holographic sparkle, and a few others I forget of various brands. I have to say that this What's Up Nails black chrome powder is not finely ground or something because out of all the powders I listed it was noticeably more coarse, making the ability to achieve a mirror finish difficult and inconsistent. All my powders were done with UV gel polish on a no wipe top coat.3 stars is because it looked cool anyway, just not generally as advertised. Also, even though it seems expensive compared to others, you do get a lot more of the powder for the price.

Love it!
I ordered the Aurora pigment. I was a little hesitant to spend $21 on one single jar of pigment but this is actually a larger size jar and there is a good amount of product included. The price still may be a little higher than I would have liked but I am very happy with my purchase. This pigment is STUNNING. I used OPI infinite shine base primer and two coats of infinite shine polish. Let that dry completely and then used a no wipe gel top coat, applied the pigment and then a second coat of top coat. This pigment really needed to be buffed into the nail to really make it shine. I have a few different tricks that I use to get nail pigments to buff out and I had to use them all to get this one to look it's best. First use a small brush or makeup eyeshadow applicator to apply a small amount of pigment to the nail. Then I used a silicone tip nail art carving pen to buff the pigment into the nail. Finally, I turned a rubber glove inside out and rubbed it over each nail. I know it sounds crazy but I saw a lady on youtube use a smooth rubber glove to buff the nail and it really helps bring out some extra shine. My nails are so gorgeous I can't stop looking at them. This is a great product.I'm my photos I show a gray nail next to the open product and then the same gray nail covered with this pigment next to the closed product

Cannot write enough good things!
This powder is incredible. Depending on the angle and light it shifts from pink to blue to green to yellow. I used it to do a mermaid style manicure and I got so many compliments. I think what I like best, and what separates it from similar products out there, is that depending on how hard you buff it in, it can look like a solid sheet or you can get a beautiful textured look like there are bigger glitter pieces in the powder. A little goes a very long way, so I think it's worth the price. I didn't even make a dent in mine and I did all 10 nails with it.

Love it!
Beautiful rose chrome with an expected amount of product in the container. I have bought other chromes and been disappointed in the lack of amount in the container. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount in this container and the product is beautiful. I would recommend.

Awesome
This powder is suuuuper pigmented. It only needs one "rub" to be fully chrome and opaque. I have the Aurora pigment from Whats Up and you need to build that one up to look good but this one is amazing. Really easy to work with.

Product is great, but came damaged
Product is great but the lid was broken so about a quarter of it leaked everywhere in the bag it was shipped in, it was a big pain to get it out without getting powder everywhere

Beautiful
I saw this product in a you tube video and was intrigued. It’s really very beautiful- super easy to apply and the colour is gorgeous. Very happy and will most likely order some of the other colours
