Finally, I Found a Good Press!
Finally, I found a great press! This is the 3rd press I've purchased in recent days, trying to replace my old one after it broke. I used it for many many years. I didn't think it was going to be so difficult to find one since I was used to a good thing but this one is close to the perfect press for my needs. When I started looking, I assumed the bigger the bucket the better. I found out I was wrong! I normally only press a clove or two at a time. When I used the ones with the bigger bucket, I found that most of the garlic stayed inside the bucket and little pressed through. This was the case whether I pressed a peeled or unpeeled clove. That wasn't acceptable. This press has a smaller bucket, about the same size as my old one, and the peeled cloves press through just fine, like my old one! The unpeeled cloves didn't do real well but I'm not too surprised by that. Plus, I always peel the cloves first so that isn't an issue for me. If I want, I can use the tube to peel them or peel them by hand like I normally do.The press is heavier than my old one which was aluminum. This seems to be heartier because of that weight. The arm that presses has little prongs that push through the corresponding holes so you're getting a good result. My only complaint is that the arm that swings down doesn't open all the way back like my old one. I don't know if it's supposed to but that is a little annoying because pulling it all the way back makes it a little easier to clean and get inside the bucket. It's not a deal breaker for me, more a case of a design suggestion. So, if you're like me and just press maybe a few peeled cloves, this is great and I do believe the smaller bucket is the key. If you want to press numerous cloves at a time, then maybe a bigger one would be right for you but keep in mind, of the 3 I've used now, none of them did well pressing unpeeled cloves. It is not that they didn't work, it's just that the peel prevents the inside meat from extruding so either you're going to have to press more cloves than usual to get the volume you need or you're going to be messing with removing the meat from inside the peel.

Works well, great value for the price
I actually bought this to use with clay for sculpting because it was the cheapest nice looking press I could find. I thought I would try it in the kitchen once before I took it away to the craft room. Now it will stay in the kitchen and replace the more expensive heavy duty garlic press I had already. The little nubs on the press side really help push all the garlic out and makes cleaning a lot easier. I would like it to be a smidge larger, but otherwise works very well.

Bent on 4th clove
I figured it would be a little flimsy by its size, etc. I could press 2-3 cloves at a time in my old press, but this one is small and can really only fit one. Well, by the 4 clove...the bowl on the bottom bent and now the plunger can't fit in. I can probably shape it back out, but now the metal is weakened and is more likely to bend. Better to find a better quality product - price per pressed clove is not worth it.

Mediocre
This press is too small for the kind of garlic you get at costco. It is hard to put the garlic cloves in and it tends to stick when you want to crush another clove.

Love my new garlic press and peeler! Great combo!
Ok - why did I not ever know about the garlic peeler! This is so easy and genius - and no smelly garlic fingers - ever again!! Oh, and the press is top-rate! It got every bit of garlic mince out of the skin! It's also a very sturdy design. After my last press warped because I squeezed too hard and bent the metal - I figured I needed something sturdier. This is it!

Works great
The press and peeler both work great! The only reason it's not a 5 star is the picture of the press had a decorative label on it and the one we got didn't.

Poor quality for top dollar
I'm super bummed, bought two of these for stocking stocking stuffers. One of them Just broke. We've only used it 3 times since Christmas. For the price, I'm very disappointed and would like a refund :/
