Best Cervical Collar Ever (for preventing front to back movement)!
I didn't get mine from Amazon, but it is a great neck brace for preventing front to back movement! After my cervical laminectomy on C3 - C7, I was given a Miami J collar. It was great at first, but was very hot in summer. Due to the nature of my injury, tilting my head back is painful and pinches nerves. God forbid I should ever get in a car accident, whiplash would probably paralyze me. This collar allows your neck to rotate and move side to side. The large opening in the front allows air to get in there for cooling! A stranger stopped me in a store to show me her complete wire-frame collar to prevent her head from drooping forward. I did some research online and found this one. Because of insurance, I had to go to a Prosthetist. Ironically, he had never heard of this type of collar (luckily I brought my research with me). He ordered the correct size and adjusted it, which makes mine very comfortable (as far as neck braces go - lol)! The padding on the rear portion is machine washable and hasn't disintegrated. As opposed to the Miami J's hand wash only padding that fell apart being hand washed. Everyone has their own needs for a neck brace, but if you need to prevent front to back movement, I would highly recommend this collar. I've had mine several years and the padding on the wireframe is showing some normal wear and tear. I was just window shopping for possibly replacing mine, saw the preceeding review, and felt I had to share my experience.
