Whether its worth the cost depends
Whether its worth the cost depends on whether your willing to make your own cage. I use hoop nets for crabbing and used to make my own out of 1/2 x 1/2 mesh hardware cloth, The worked but the crabs regularily crushed the boxes. I hoped these were sturdier and I'm not disappointed. The ones I received were made of 1/2 x 1" mesh welded wire (16 ga I believe). I ordered the small but its still bigger then I like to use in the hoop nets so I modified them to be 5 x 3x 2 instead of 5x5x2. Yes the quality lacks in places but these are handmade and meant to be thrown in saltwater not placed on a shelf to be admired

Easiest loading and unloading bait traps I've ever used!
Well, they appear cheap cosmetically but they're so easy to load and unload bait and unload crab because they mount in the center of your pots and they're only three inches tall. How long they last? Not sure and really don't care because they simplify crabbing. Anyone complaining about these must not crab like we do! Awesome product!

Hours of Entertainment at the Bay
We moved to a bayside community this past year. We heard about crabbing. We took a class and then bought 2 of these crab traps and some other gear. The crab pot alone was $300 at a local sporting goods store. Since we did not know how successful we would be, we did not want to spend that kind of money. These were just perfect. We have added a few clips here and there, but they work and fold up nicely to fit in the trunk of the car. We have used them many times this crab season and we have enjoyed several crab dinners.

Wrong Color
Boxes are fine and easy to use, however I thought I was getting orange boxes as per the description. I received 2 yellow ones.

good quality, got me my first spiny lobster
I also got bait boxes from another "big brand" box for 3x the price. I don't see a difference in the quality, except for the paint color. Works very well for me.

Awesome - best option that I have found
The mud crabs tear your bait bags apart so these are ideal and well constructed - should last forever.

Garbage Product
I had high hopes for this product when I originally purchased it. However, it arrived bent and warped with broken/poorly installed hinges. Very rough with a poor paint job and dangerously sharp edges. I initiated a return of the product but the courier lost it right after I gave it to them so I never received a refund. I HIGHLY do not recommend taking the risk with this
