This is made very well, but it's pretty steep. I have a female Syrian hamster, and she's 7 inches long, but she still flops in and out. The sides are just too high. It's a waste to fill it up really high with sand. Also, it takes up a lot of space. That's NOT a problem for me because my enclosure has a lot of SQ ft. But others with a smaller enclosure need to be mindful of the dimensions.I put a ramp to go in and out, but my hamster won't use it. I'm going to add small cardboard platforms to lessen the drop. But when my hamster gets older I'll just have to remove this for a flatter container. I like the idea behind this, and it's very well made, just not practical unless you pile up bedding and sand. So if you want to buy this, just be ready to use a lot more bedding and sand, or make modifications.

Perfect size for a Syrian hamster! Absolutely love the natural wood and little terracotta dish is great! Very sturdy and shaped perfectly for a sand bath and or digging box. Overall excellent product!

I put this in the bottom of my hamster's cage to use as a sandbath. He seems to really like it. He made a nest under the ledge and lives there now, instead of his other houses.

Hard to clean... bulky. But the ham loves it!

Love this sand bath...my hamster LOVES it as well! Just wish it also came in a smaller size...like half the size for smaller cages.
