The extraordinary trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf released Diasporas, his first album, in 2007. Since that auspicious debut, he has become one of the music world's key jazz artists, garnering the unanimous endorsement of the press and well-deserved popular acclaim. Maalouf's second and third albums, named Diachronism and Diagnostic, completed the 'Dia' trilogy. Worldwide sales of these three albums have topped 100,000 units so far. For several years now, the first two albums in the trilogy have been unavailable. Thanks to the huge success of Maalouf's recently released album Wind, his first two albums are now available once more as part of this specially-priced boxed set entitled (appropriately) Dia.

4 CDs which constitute an excellent summary of where Maalouf is coming from and where he's at now - a mixture of influences, an eclecticism of styles, always interesting to listen to. One of the most prolific innovators in contemporary jazz.
