Works for old school HUDSON #61132SM 2 Gallon Polyethylene Sprayer - UPDATED 05/23/2015
Suddenly, my old school HUDSON #61132SM 2 Gallon Polyethylene Sprayer stopped spraying. Disassembly at different points led to the thrust valve as being the fluid stoppage. After talking to Hudson customer service, I knew that this was most likely the brass thrust valve I needed. It fits the large 0.375" ID hose (which appears to be 0.5" OD). It was the same price here as from Hudson and I could get it PRIME delivered on a Sunday!!Appears to be the same valve as original with improvements to handle.Installed easily. I will update review after I use the sprayer in the next few days.UPDATED 05/23/2015Finally used the sprayer after the replacement listed above. WONDERFUL !! is what I would say about this new valve. I had been having spray materials leaking out of the original valve for years. With this replacement, control was excellent and the best news was that liquid was no longer running from the valve body!!Highly recommended.PS - Even without the leaking, I still wear PPE (personal protective equipment - full clothing covering all skin, OSHA approved respirator, eye protection and gloves to my elbows). We have only one body, and it is worth protecting.

Exact replacement but no clamp
Product was an excellent replacement for original valve that leaked. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the picture showed a clamp was included, but it was not. Not a big problem as I happened to have some small clamps, but I expect to get what I see.

Misleading Picture
The Roto Valve featured in the ad was exactly as the original I needed to replace. The item sent was the same parts # but was not exactly as the one pictured. I would have preferred getting exactly the same valve as was featured in the ad. I consider this switch of items to be a bit misleading.

Thank goodness Hudson is still around
The valve on my thirty year old Hudson sprayer started to leak--I tired to fix it and managed to break one of the pieces. I got on the Amazon site and there it was--looks like exactly the same valve. It arrived quickly and the my old wand fit perfectly. The tube connector is larger than my old one, but with a little heat, I was able to stretch my old hose to fit the new valve. It works just like new. I do a lot of gardening and my stainless Hudson sprayer has been used for everything you can imagine. It has to be one of the best purchases I ever made.

The description for the Hudson Roto Valve did not give ...
The description for the Hudson Roto Valve did not give the size of the connection for an existing hose. My existing hose is 1/4" inside diameter. The Roto Valve is 3/8" OD. Therefor I couldn't get it to fit to my Hudson sprayer hose. I had to improvise by going to a auto part store and purchase a 3/8" ID rubber fuel line to make the connections. I'm sure I'm not the only one that had this problem assuming that the Roto Valve will fit any standard Hudson sprayer. Caution: before you make your purchase check your Hudson sprayer hose to make sure will fit the 3/8" OD Roto Valve .

Bad Part
I liked the part but the part does not work as it should. It let my sprayer work but the thing want cut off properly and the thing keeps leaking real bad.

Equal or better than the original equipment
This seems to be a quality piece of equipment, which installs quickly and easily, after cutting off the hose as close as possible to the metal ferrule (which you can feel inside the hose) of the original valve assembly). A little warm water soak on the hose will make it much easier to slip over the brass ferrule of the new replacement, and a small amount of liquid hand soap will work well for a lubricant. The only thing that I didn't like was the provided standard stainless hose clamp, which is more likely to snag skin and pinch fingers than the original, more streamlined factory clamp...a very small issue.

Now the thing sprays properly again
I was going to pan this for being so expensive, but it is actually a complex device with lots of parts. And it works. I treat my sprayer, used for oil spray on fruit trees, to new parts every now and then and it works great after many years. I fix everything I can get parts for. Evidently these get clogged up and even solvent and an air compressor couldn't fix the old one.It is bigger than the hose on my older sprayer, but a heat gun and some oomph got it on ok.
