Dovetail House

I was looking for a dollhouse that I wouldn't mind having on constant display, with plenty of rooms for different types of imaginative play, and doors that could hide the mess. For me, this gorgeous dollhouse is perfection. It is so thoughtfully designed and well-constructed.My 2.5-year-old daughter was absolutely delighted with the dollhouse the moment she saw it, and my husband was very impressed with all of its features. I think the roof is genius. You can either take both pieces off completely, or you can store the front panel on top the back panel. My daughter loves all of the working windows and shutters.My only complaint is that the manufacturer could have provided better screws. The twelve "S4" screws, which attach the sides to each floor, are difficult to turn and may strip. When I used my own 1-1/4" #6 Philips flat-head zinc wood screws, they went in easily. This was the only substitution I had to make, as all of the other screws provided worked just fine.

Dollhouse was as pictured and was fairly easy to assemble.

This is a great wooden dollhouse for boys and girls. Love that it's gender neutral and not all crazy pink and wild colors. The size is terrific, not too huge, with enough space for 6 rooms of furniture. The dollhouse instructions were fine - I just suggest taking your time to make sure windows go in right side up and the correct floor pieces are chosen before screwing anything together. The holes are all pre-drilled and pieces lined up fine. The only place where there are not pre-drilled holes are where the brackets attach to the front doors to allow them to open and close. I was able to screw the tiny screws thru the brackets and into the doors without a problem. The front door opens and all windows and shutters open and close. It's adorable and my grandkids will love it! I'd give it 5 stars, but a decorative tree came broken which isn't a huge deal - it doesn't affect the overall house. So 4 1/2 stars for sure!

A tad pricey but simple to put together and very well made. It is the cutest house and great for little kids to play with too.I love that it isn’t pink or too girly so that my son will play with it too. I hope it will provide hours of fun for all of my kids!

I bought this for my granddaughter and my husband and I assembled it with ease. We were amazed that every piece fit perfectly and all screw holes etc were perfect. We did not have to improvise at all. It is very sturdy and so is the furniture that I bought separately. My granddaughter and grandson both love it. Probably the best gift I ever gave my granddaughter.

This house is my biggest regret ever. First of all, I bought it for my daughter’s first birthday. Upon assembly, we found out there are no pre-drilled holes, which makes it almost guaranteed that something might not line up. The front part was bent, made a horrible noise on opening, also chipped the paint. I communicated with the seller, sent photos, and was promised a new house within days. A week later, I had to contact again, to find out that the company is thinking on how to fix my house. At this point, I asked to return it, because it was a big hassle. With a lot of effort, we packed the house, which was already assembled and sent it back. I thought I was done with it forever, and was looking forward to getting something else, when instead they sent me a notification of shipping a replacement. Okay, I was upset for having to go through all of this again, but we assembled the second one. It is better, but there are still drawbacks. First of all, it will pinch your children’s fingers. Second, there are cracks and imperfections in different places. The roof must be taken off manually each time, and a child can not do that, it is just too big and heavy. So, all things together, I hate this thing and regret not buying the original Maileg.

I had some issues assembling, it took about 3 hours. There are some imperfections and a slot on the 3rd floor was not in alignment so we had to improvise and saw a small piece, very frustrating! There are also some paint imperfections. A bit disappointed for an expensive item. I would really appreciate a replacement piece on the front of the house so I don’t have to disassemble and return the entire item.
