Wonderful product if you know how to use it properly
Everyone knows what they are supposed to do but few know how to use them properly. There is a learning curve with these and if you've never used one before I highly recommend searching the internet and learn what works and what doesn't, then get outside and use it under controlled conditions first. If you assume it's like a normal blanket then you are already in trouble in an emergency. For instance, it will perform much better if you wear it like a poncho under your jacket than wrapping yourself up in one over your jacket like you would if it was a blanket. These reflect heat so you want to use it before you get to cold or there will be less body heat to reflect back on yourself. Cut it into smaller pieces and wrap your feet over your socks, then put your shoes back on. Wrap your legs and arms over your base layer. The best way to use these is to get them as close to your skin as possible without actually touching your skin, before you get cold. Use one as a sleeping bag liner and another to insulate yourself from the ground. They can be used for many other things as well, such as a sling to immobilize an injured arm. You can cut it into strips and make cordage out of it - it's surprisingly strong. Use it as a reflector behind a fire and a second one behind where you are sitting - you'll be amazed at how much warmer it will be within that zone compared to just one step outside of it. Cut into tiny strips and tied around a hook you have a lure that will catch fish. It's waterproof so you can use it to carry water or line a depression in the ground to collect rain. There are a ton of uses for these. They can be one of the most versatile items in your kit with a little knowledge and practice, so don't wait until you're in an emergency or survival situation to learn what you can and can't do with them or you'll be sorry.

but I love the small size
I bought this to keep in my car for emergencies and to use in a cat shelter I have made for feral cats. I haven't usedit for emergencies yet, but I love the small size. I can easily keep it in my glove compartment of my car. The one to linethe walls in my feral cat shelter, seems to work well too. Though I suppose you'd really have to ask the cats.

Abnormal smell.
Product was as described. Person who packaged it must have spilled nasty smelling cologne over all the blankets. Not good to put in a hunting pack!

honestly I hope in never have to use it
so I am unable to give this a review at this time. what I do like is that it has a separate plastic container that it comes in that is pretty sturdy and will keep the blanket from getting fouled in storage, which does tend to happen with safety blankets in my experience.
