You get what you pay for.
There are better options. It took a very long time to register the temp. The first time I measured it was not quite high enough so I put the item back in the oven. After a few more minutes in the oven at the same temperature, again it took a long time to register, but this time is was about 20 degrees lower. How is that possible? I have used better products and I am returning this one.

OK, but there are issues...
What I like: EASY access to the battery. Long probe. Easy to read.What I don't like: As best I can tell, it defaults do celsius and I have to find/press the button each time to change it. Buttons are too small and the lettering with them is too hard to read.

Stay away. I wanted a simple meat thermometer and bought this. I didn't read the reviews closely enough, and didn't see that all of the good ratings were from people who were given the product for free. The "case" (a plastic tube) fell apart as soon as I opened it, and the first time I used the thermometer it broke. Takes way too long to register the temperature, and defaults to celsius. Buy something else.

Worst Meat Thermometer Ever
I bought this thermometer to use as a meat thermometer based on the reviews and am very disappointed. I've never been able to get it to register over 90 degrees even if the meat is obviously done. In addition it takes a very long time to register the temperature. I've already gone to purchase a replacement as this product is worthless.

NOT INSTANT READ AT ALL
This is advertised as a instant read thermometer. It is not.It takes FOREVER to get the maximum temperature of whatever you're cooking and its very frustrating to take out a roast and have it sit on the counter for 3-4 minutes while it counts up .2 degree at a time from room temperature to whatever your meat is at. Would not recommend.

It didn't work very well. In fact I could not get it to change from celsius to farenheit. It was inexpensive and I can see why. Mine was broken before I even used it. I wished I would have listened to other reviews before I purchased it.

SLOW
Takes the temperature, easy to read, simple settings, but take a LONG time. Be prepared to hold it in place for a full minute or two before the temperature reading catches up to the temperature of the food.
