Star Wars: Dark Empire Trilogy Hardcover – 15 Sept. 2010

I was feeling a bit disappointed with the latest trilogy, telling myself that have to wait till it's over before canjudge it and that meant for a younger audience like I was when star wars first came out?Then I came across reference to this on youtube and I was hooked. This sounded like star wars. This wasmore what I was looking for!Now I am nearly finished and can see similarities with the way the movies are going and so have paused,since I want to watch the movie first instead of going in to it and complaining about how much betterthis was than they are. No, watch the movies so that don't have spoilers. Then can finish off and enjoythe proper star wars story...

This (along with Zahn's Heir Trilogy), should be read by every Star Wars fan getting into the EU - see where it began.To this day - It's a really cool story.10/10

This is perhaps the first graphic novel I've really enjoyed. Parts I and II were fantastic. The art was wonderful and the narrative, for the most part, compelling. The shorter part III, however, lacked all of these qualities. Gone was the minimalist and stylised art, as was the subtle writing. It's still a good trilogy overall but what a shame it ended how it did.

This is suggested reading for any star wars. One of the interesting parts is seeing the star wars universe expanded before the prequels or new sequel trilogy. Boba Fett being a storm trooper who killed his commanding officer, a new take on the Jedi Knights (very different from the prequel order). Great read.

I've never read a graphic novel before and this is a let down after the amazing writing that is the Thrawn Trilogy. That said, I suppose the authors of this medium are always hindered by the available space. The reason I picked this up is that I didn't want to miss anything important before I read The Jedi Academy Trilogy and it is probably worth that piece of mind for any other star wars fan who plans on reading those books.

My least favourite of all star wars graphic novels I have read so far ... lazy storytelling re-hashing stuff from old characters and artwork is poor as well.

If you love Star Wars you will LOVE this comic. Well worth the money.
