I wanted to like this product, but all the home videos I transferred onto it became corrupt files. I tried reformatting it a few times, but in the end I returned it because I couldn't trust it to protect my data.

If you have a PC this is truly a plug and play. Instantly ready to receive downloads. It is just as easy as transferring files to a folder. Just put an icon for this unit on your desktop and you are ready. It is well made and has enough weight to not fall over easily. I like it as a desktop device so I can just leave it hooked up at all times. If you have a Mac, you will need to reformat it to make it work. Please check the instructions before using it on your Apple/Mac. Also, the shipping was extremely fast!! The packaging was great and secure. Great job, Amazon!

So far, I bought two of those. The first one was for my husband but, being the family geek, I tested it. I copied a bunch of files (I think 150GB) and the copy was very, very, fast. Afterwards I run a check, verifying the files and everything worked perfectly. I was so impressed by the performance that I ordered the second one. Not that I really needed it but it is a great backup for Office 365 Home OneDrives, 6TBs fit perfectly and there's still space for my laptops backups. Now that I think of it, probably I "need" another to backup my desktops

Nice size, easy storage, attached cord is great, like that you can decide how much storage you want to assign to 2 separate computers. I assigned 1 TB to each of my computers, and I can adjust this at anytime. Fast, massive storage. I purchased the 2 TB, there is 1 TB and also higher TB. I'm still figuring things out but I love being able to have a hard copy file of music, pictures, etc. beside in the cloud.. which still makes me a little leary. So glad to have fast speed transfer. Price is worth it.

My computer was almost completely out of storage so this probably extended the life of my computer. I have a Mac computer and it worked just fine. Everything transferred smoothly. I would recommend this because too much saved on a computer could cause it to crash a that has happened to me and it was devastating! Also, I got a new computer last year and now you can’t even increase you memory or storage. So if you don’t spend a lot extra to get a few terabytes then you will definitely need this thing!

I'm really impressed with this hard drive. I hate ordering things like this simply because you never know how they work, how long they last, and if you'll have issues with them early on. It turns out this thing was a blessing. I ended up getting a pretty sweet deal on this because it was right after the holidays and it was money well spent. I purchased this hard drive for my Xbox one X and needless to say that I still have plenty of space for other games. This hard drive is quiet and efficient.

So far, great! I bought two of these for a simple server backup that I rotate out. I chose these due to the fact that I will be bringing them back and forth and leaving in a backpack sometimes in order to provide an offline and offsite backup for my companies server data. This is a secondary backup, so simple USB drives is all I wanted to deal with. I very much like the promise of durability and the package does seem very good for that, as all 4 corners are rubberized nicely.

After buying many of these devices, I can assure you that this external devices of this category have served me well for over two and three years straight with daily use and huge storage activities for programming files, music, PDFs and mass moves of data. During huge moves to these devices, you are assured quality data checking and full control over allowing duplicates to overwrite or be skipped in the data paste process. I highly recommend this particular 2TB device.
