Prep is key! Love chassis saver
Been using this for 20yrs. Put the prep in and it will last a very very long time. I sprinkle aluminum oxide on after I put a coat down then roll it again then you have great grip. Trick i found is a small foam roller works incredibly well. Get gloves up to your elbows and wear face shield when doing underneath.

Fades in sun. Flimsy can.
Great product! Thick, heavy seal on new and old metal.Only four stars because this product does drastically fade when subjected to extended sunlight & the cans they come in are far too flimsy for how nasty this product is. The last can I received was damaged & then when I was tapping lid back on it crushed more, preventing it from sealing. A few suggestions, cover yourself and ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES! Also I've found that if u put plastic over can b4 putting lid on increases the likelihood of the product not drying up on you in storage.

Chassis Saver is the right choice.
This stuff works fantastic, it goes on fairly thick and hardens to protect the metal. Be sure and wear gloves and old clothes because this stuff has to wear off from time.

Amazing stuff, let’s see how it holds up.
Did not like being rolled on, did not try to spray as its rather nasty stuff chemically and aerosolizing it seemed like something you do when you must vs to the bottom of a service body as part of a bed swap.Brushing worked the best.Should have read a little more before purchase, because the aluminum version is not just color or metallic paint but literally contains 2Lb of aluminum powder per gallon, which helps fill small pits etc. and would have been my base coat on the top side of the bed. I’ve ordered some to use as the base coat for the frame of the truck the service body will sit on, but know I will have to brush it on or use a large orifice in my sprayer because of the Aluminum powder.I am very satisfied with the gloss black. It’s almost ceramic hard once it’s dry, but you have to use a brush and have to keep the applied material in very thin coats. Globbing this stuff on will only cause micro bubbles as it cures which can allow air and moisture in and they don’t sand out well. I used 3 coats and then top coated because I got some runs and globs in a few corners and behind hangers, etc. I figure that if 2 coats in minimum then 3 is better and will fill in any little micro bubbles and while I used as an undercoating to my service body, a top coat of gloss black oil base enamel couldn’t hurt. You won’t need any thinner unless you want to spray it and you must use xylene or their brand of thinner not lawyer or paint thinner. Also a RESPIRATOR!!!!! This will not give you cancer if you expose yourself to a toxic amount of vapors. It will kill you or give you brain damage rather quickly. Paint with brush in well ventilated area (outside with a breeze) or use a damn respirator. NOT A DUST MASK, Must be respirator good for organic vapor.Once you’ve opened your can and are done for the day, putting a light float of xylene in the can before you close it will keep it from skinning over and you just mix in before you use next time. Do not mix in immediately or you defeat the purpose of the float. Also use plastic wrap/bag/something between the paint can lid and paint can if you spliiled any in the little groove of the can. It will weld lid to can otherwise. This stuff does not sand easily. It does scuff easily for multiple coats, but you won’t want to try to feather it or bring back to bare metal once cured. TRUST ME ON THIS.

I used this on my ford ranger. The frame was very rusty. I removed the flaky loose rust with a wire wheel, and didn't remove the surface rust (per instructions). I applied the 1st coat with a brush because I had forgotten how much I hate painting above my head lol. The 2nd coat I sprayed. Lots of runs & drips but that's my fault. The coating is very hard yet flexible. 1 gallon covered my 2000 ranger frame, springs, spare wheel mount etc. With 2 coats.I had done a few test pieces and noticed that the paint really coats rusty metal very well. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN. If you do, wash it off with acetone NOT WATER immediately or wear it for a month. Same goes for your sprayer: acetone, not water.Don't bother prying the lid off. It's glued on and you don't want to open it anyway. Punch one hole to pour / stir and one hole to vent. I stuck a bent rod in the hole and stirred with a drill. When done, cover holes with foil tape.I used a $25 harbor freight electric paint gun. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this worked. Used a .03 tip (supplied) and diluted with about 2 - 5% acetone. I did not test spray the undiluted paint fyi.Edit: you're not supposed to dilute it w acetone. But use it to clean up.
