Trouble bending your big toes? Alleviate the pain with Hallux Rigidus Men's / Women's Full Length Insoles Hallux rigidus or turf toe is a condition where the big toe joint becomes arthritic and loses cartilage, resulting in painful bone-on-bone motion. These insoles, made of firm composite carbon graphite, limit the motion of the big toe joint and relieve pain caused when you push off the toes when you walk. Plus, they support the arch too.

Good Product if it works for you
Unfortunately these do not work for me. They created pain on the ball of my foot and behind my toes and in front of my arch, so I could not walk. I removed them. I have very high arches and insteps, but these are rigid and therefore don't work for me but they may for you. They are well made, very thin and quite lovely. I could not get any medical advice online so I returned them. They fit nicely in my shoes. Very high nice arch support. However, there is a small section which supports the big toe only, with nothing under the smaller 4 toes and I felt a painful rubbing from the 1/16" - 1/8" height difference. Maybe they should have a ultra thin covering on them. There were no directions and I had unwittingly thrown out my original insoles, but probably could not have fit all those layers in the shoes with my high instep.

I bought this product to help with getting over a pretty severe case of turf toe (torn ligaments around the big toe) and they are definitely helping me return back to my normal life. Walking is possible for me again in these, and have helped increase strength back into the ligaments and I can say my toe feels better after using these for a week. They fit right into a pair of high top sneakers after loosening the laces a bit. Some shoes they won't fit into unless the original insole is removed. If using these as the only insole or on top of an original insole, keep in mind you are going to be standing on a hard surface which may not agree with some peoples' feet, but hasn't been an issue for me. Arch support is fantastic.4 stars only because they do tend move A LITTLE around in the shoe, and I think the next size up wouldn't have fit into my shoes.TL;DR - I can walk again thanks to these!

This brand was recommended by my podiatrist
This brand was recommended by my podiatrist. He actually sells these out of the office (for more than what Amazon charges). They fit my Asicswalkers right out of the package-no modifications needed. The inserts feel good while exercising or walking. They won't cure my hallux rigidus, but it helps me delay surgery awhile longer.I wear an 8.5 M shoe, and ordered a sz 9.

... severe arthritis in my large toe which made it painful to walk
I have severe arthritis in my large toe which made it painful to walk, even at a normal pace. My doctor advised shoes with stiffer soles, but I saw these inserts and decided to give them a try. I put them in my walking shoes (which I also wear to work) under the soft cushions that were already in the shoes. I have had them for over a month and a half, and I'm back to walking up to 3 miles at a time at a quick pace and have no pain during or after. Fantastic! These really have done wonders for me.

Not for impact exercise
Doesn't really work for impact exercise even with a cushioned insole over it. Fine if I am just walking around a shop or something.

These work great I need a few more pairs
These work way better than the flat brittle junk my Dr charged me 3 times as much for, each. Those lasted 1 month are were all cracked and worthless. When your big toe joint is shot you will never be pain free but these orthotics help so much I can live with the end of the day stiffness. The overall pain is greatly reduced. My feet were not used to a proper arch so they were sore for the first couple days but they got used to it and now are very comfortable all day.Like many of the other people posting reviews my Dr wanted to fuse my foot bones together. After talking to people and reading about the after affects of that surgery I decided it wasn't for me. It often makes things worse.
