Even the Pint/500ml and Quart/liter bottles use a standard cap size, and that's what this is for. **Q: Where is it made?** A: Japan... :-) **Q: What is it for?** A: The EBM Sizzler is used to re-cap a standard glass bottle of Coke, Beer or other beverage that is sold in glass bottles. I wish I had this in college. Pretty much anything that claims to open bottles will get the job done, but this is by far the best device I've ever used at resealing bottles with crown tops. I've had better luck with this than with screwing back on screw-off crown tops.I particularly like that the bottle opener part folds down. It keeps the whole thing secure for transporting in a cooler, and takes up less space in the refrigerator than the competitors that are just one solid piece. I had hoped because of other reviews saying that it fit most champagne bottles that it would work with corked and caged 750ml bottles of Belgian Ales but the bottle of Delirium Tremens I opened today while I had a friend over was way too large for the Sizzler device.
