Masterfab Bottle Bit Tool to Sand & Finish Bottles After Cutting

You cannot argue with the results. Pure beauty. If you've ever sanded a cut bottle, you will be astounded by the results.This is not a toy for beginners. Like using a hole saw bit, s**t can go sideways on you real fast. Always always wear a glove, a good glove. A glove that is coated and burly and can handle melting sand paper. It gets hot. And with speed, a bottle can shred through sand paper.I'm really surprised at what great results I can get even with 60 grit. I used to do a slow progression from 80 to 120 to 150 to Dremel abrasive buffs. No more. I can go from 60 grit to 150 in minutes.Minus 1 star for the price. And minus 1 star for the "cozy" being USELESS. The description is not correct, the ONLY thing that fit in the cozy is my husband's beer while he's standing there laughing. No liquor bottle will fit and the foam wrap they give you is very difficult to work with. I have much better success with a thicker foam packing strip as it has more give to really smash the bottle firmly in place. I've also been surprised at how level and even every bottle comes out, regardless of how much wobble occurred.The inventor did not finish this product. You need to get yourself some swimming pool noodles and some split insulated foam pipe covers and foam wrap to custom fit each and every bottle. But if you do that, the results make this gadget priceless.

Positive for me: It is built to last a lifetime, arrived on time, undamaged, and packed well.Negative for me: Up on checking out the unit online I viewed the Kickstarter unit and it was made using a 1/4" stud in the pictures. I made the assumption that the Amazon unit was a 3/8" up grade. The unit received measured .420 across to large for both of my 3/8" electric drills. 3/8" =.375. I am thinking I will have to return Bottle Bit. The online description should give us the mounting stud size.The Amazon description states the it will hold a 3 5/8" bottle (3.625") this is incorrect. the Max Bottle size from inside diameter is 3.220" or (3 7/32"). That is less than 3 1/4".I believe the description should be updated.

It makes sanding bottles so much faster!! No more sanding by hand and worn out muscles. We were able to cut and sand 14 bottles in just a few hours. It would have been impossible to complete that many bottles in one day without this tool. Make sure you wear a pair of cut-resistant gloves when dealing with any cut bottles.

Saves so much time and virtually eliminates repetitive motion. Combined this with a counter top portable drill holder to create a wonderful low cost solution.

The media could not be loaded.  So far so good on basic wine bottles. I wish there was a way to secure the neck end of the bottle for other projects. I know from other reviews that I will have to revert to hand sanding the larger bottles.

Wish it was 1/4" larger in diameter for some wine bottles. Works well with the ones that fit it.

I use this to sand and finish several different types of bottles. Works great!!

This has been a huge help for my glass projects. Completely speeds up the process of cleaning up the glass edges, and creates a smoother edge than I've been able to get without it.
