Stainless Steel Cup Set of 4 - Retro Cafe

We have had these cups for over a year now, and they are in decent shape. You have to hand wash them, which I knew and is not a problem. I have 12 of them, and none have rusted. The paint has chipped/peeled - it starts to wear on the bottom and basically that peels off, then slowly creeps up the sides. But all in all, they are in good shape and the kids enjoy them!

I ordered these cups after reading one too many articles on the risks of estrogenic activity in plastics (even BPA free plastics).The cups arrived very quickly. Although expensive, they are beautifully made and are even nicer than they look in the picture. My kids were excited about using them, which is saying a lot, as they replaced cartoon character cups.Unfortunately after owning the cups for less than a week the rim of one cup has begun to rust. Hopefully this is an anomaly and the result of a manufacturing defect. I plan to pursue an exchange because, but for the rust issue, I would happily give these 5 stars.I'll update this review pending the exchange and after more use.Update - The company addresses the rust issue on their website, however I did not find my rust easy to remove as they mentioned (used lemon per site suggestion and a blue scrubbie). In addition, the pink coating on the rusting cup has begun to peel. Very disappointed.

The cups maybe "indestructible" as the Ecococoon website claims, but the paint on them is not. I used my colored cups in the dishwasher and the paint began peeling off after the second wash. Now my kids get paint chips in their beverages and I have to take steel wool to the paint to try to get it all off.The company tried to reassure me by indicating that the paint is "non-toxic", so if the kids ingest it, it's okay. =/Do not buy if you use a dishwasher. Great if you hand wash.
