Christian theme, needed for private school. Book was in great condition. I haven't read it myself so I cannot comment on the quality of the story.

This book was enjoyed but my 10 year olds as well as me, the parent. It’s a decent fantasy type story that wasn’t cheesy or full of bad words or poor behaviors.

I read this in 4th grade (waaaaay back in the early 90's) and loved it. Now that I'm homeschooling my daughter and going through a medieval unit, I'm reading it with her again. I love being able to relive this story and pass it on. My daughter is enjoying it too (she is 10 years old and in 4th grade).

I have used this book as a night time read with three of my children. My eight year old son enjoyed reading this book also. The writing style is very good, the plot is interesting, and the message is not trite. I am interested in reading other books by the author. I believe our Christian school has used this book as one of its readers for about 4th or 5th grade.

Good book. Just, honest, character building. Using it as a reader for my 4th grade class.

My 4th grade teacher began reading this book to me and never finished it. I was so happy to find it in the kindle store after looking for it for 23 years. It brought back some great memories and now I'm reading it to my kids.

One of the very best books for kids. Adults will enjoy it also. Great lessons, deep characters.
