I like it a lot but...
I bought this item on a whim that with as little or as much as myself or the girlfriend drank, that I was curious where my tipping point was, this satisfies that curiosity.1. Quality - 4/5 - This thing is plastic, made in China but seems quite durable, I think there are some improvements but overall very good2. Price - 5/5 - I think this is well priced for what it does. Quality breathalyzers cost quite a bit more and this is that sweet spot, not too cheap, but not expensive either.3. Value - 5/5 - The value of this is in my opinion is worth it to have around, do I need it? No, did I want it for that niche curiosity, you bet!4. Cons - given what I've stated above there are a few complaints that I have, but these aren't deal breakers. First, it comes with no batteries..really? Second, the battery compartment is undeniably hard to get off, I question my strength sometimes, but come on! Third, the mouthpieces, although plenty is provided, they aren't snug when inserted, it'll get the job done, but I think they could have made them attach a little more secure, again not a deal breaker, but a want in a revised version, please!5. Ease of use - 5/5 - Instructions are fairly clear on what to do, there are picture type screenshots of the screen and what you'll see before you start using it. You press power 2 seconds, wait 15 seconds and blow! Easy! 3 colors represent your alcohol levels, Green, yellow, and Red, nice!6. Overall 5/5 - Quality and cons aside, this device does what it says in a no-fuss box, with ample mouthpieces to get you testing fairly quickly. And of course Amazon, amazing!

Good product. Easy to use.
This is a decent product with an overall good value.I found the instructions and information easy to read/understand so getting it up and running was easy. One interesting thing to note is that the instructions say to blow into the device for 3-5 seconds. I tested with zero alcohol in my system and that was fine. After 3-5 seconds I looked down and could see it was beginning to calculate. There was no beep or any audible indicator that I had succeeded in giving it enough breath. It registered 0.000 as expected. After a few drinks however I noticed that I would blow into it for maybe 1.5-2 seconds and it would begin to beep. It didn’t do that when I had zero alcohol on my breath. I continued and did the full 5 seconds or so despite the beep. The number was much higher than I’d expect (.135). So I waited about 5 minutes (directions say 2-3 minutes between tests) and I stopped blowing as soon as the beep started. That time it was much more in line with what I expected (.066). I tried several more times and determined that once the beeping starts, (not the initial beep that signals you to begin) you should stop breathing into it. It’s just a guess hmthough because the directions never mention a beeping to signal when to stop breathing, and it doesn’t beep when you haven’t been drinking, so who knows. However, I confirmed that the longer I’d continue to breathe into the device after the beeping started, the higher the number would be. That’s why I am guessing it is an indicator telling you to stop.I do think it is accurate, but only when you stop at the beep. That’s good. I just wish there was more clarity on that topic.Construction quality was good. It came with around 10 extra mouthpiece as well which is nice. It also had a little carrying pouch which was a nice touch.Overall I give it a 4. Cheap and easy to use. It may register higher than actual values if you breathe into it too long, but better too high than too low in my opinion. Can’t complain or beat it for the money.

At best tells you if you drank at all
The directions tell you to take three readings and average them out, but the readings seem nearly random. One drink to very drunk tends to read .10 to .18 with little variation. I tested it after 1 bud light (I'm 210+ pounds) and constantly got over the limit on the reading, even when waiting 20+ minutes and washing my mouth out with cold water. Whereas being very drunk commonly only resulted in reading as twice or so above the limit, when I was surely much more.At best this is an indicator if you drank at all. Perhaps useful if you're monitoring someone, but I know if I had any drinks! Even then I've tested as "over the limit" on it without drinking at all!Was going to test it more, but forgot about it since it seemed to useless so far. I'd trust as drunk person to know if they're okay to drive before this product. It seems to just say nearly everyone is too drunk to drive, even sober people!

Not sure if mine is defective
My friend had sent me the link to this one which I had used hers before and it worked absolutely great. Super accurate, the one I ordered however does glitch out a lot and the numbers don’t always appear to be accurate. I don’t use it a whole lot so I can rule out the chance if the batteries being low. But when you try to use it more then one time back to back it won’t work. It’ll come up at straight zeros which is an issue to me because the purpose of this is to know if someone is safe to drive or not. So something like this absolutely needs to be accurate. I was very impressed with my friends as it had been extremely accurate every single time it was used, I’m not sure if something maybe happened to mine while it was being delivered or what the case is, but mine I do not trust when it comes to making the decision to drive home or not.
