Outstanding quality. Very useful item to control fans, heaters and at last my RV air conditioner. Please adhere to the 1600 watt limit strictly. Most 13500 btu RV air conditioners draw at least that much. Mine is a high efficiency and during running it draws 1040 watts. Surge is upwards of 1600 watts but for only a second or two. I put a male and female plug on the circuit to the AC. I put the Digiten on that circut. I control the temp from bed. It works great! The Digiten doesn't get too warm either. Again, don't overload. I also use a solar generator to power my AC and since the AC shuts down completely, including the fan which draws 350 watts while on, I get AC ALL NIGHT LONG now. I do use the delay at 4 minutes just to prevent accidental restart. Get a Digiten. I use one for my wholehouse fan, heater, window air and now RV air. Those who can't figure it out need to just take some time and read the instructions which are online. I think there's a vidro too. It's a bit goofy until you get it. Then you will love this thing.

UPDATE ADTER 2 YEARS:I’ve been using this great and reliable thermostat for 2 years now, without any issues whatsoever. In fact, I think it’s highly accurate temperature wise. It’s been great for my 1200W portable air conditioner. My only tiny gripe is the battery lid wouldn’t stay on the back of the remote after 6 months; I solved the problem by steaming and stretching the catch-clasp on the lid and it now snaps, and stays right in place.Highly recommend!———————————————————————————————————————————————I’m really enjoying this controller and am a little confused over the numerous (and often low rated) reviews regarding set-up…? I’m using it in cooling function to control my 12K BTU portable air conditioner, which is rated at 11.5 amps, 1250 watts, just under the maximum load capacity specs for this controller; it gets many negative reviews (melted/damaged relievers) because many have tried to use 15 amp, 1500 watt space heaters on it, which is too much electrical load. Check your load specs before considering this controller!Yes, the instructions are a little vague, but they are not impossible to figure out as many have reported. The company even has a video with instructions for the basics (but video has poor production values) on YouTube for this model. It only took me under 10 minutes to set mine up—and that included changing the temp settings fron Celsius to Fahrenheit. Folks, the remote only has 4 buttons, how hard can it really be to set-up?! Mine came with the receiver and the remote pre-paired, and after 8-10 minutes programming the parameters I wanted, it was up and running.The accuracy of the thermostat seems good, within 1-1.5 degrees of other thermometers I have around the house. All in all, I am very satisfied and happy with the device, and if it holds up long term, I will be ecstatic.

Updated again after tinkering.... But beware if you decide to try this...this must have voided the warantee but I physically removed the piezo electric alarm inside the remote now it finally shuts up and works without coming back on and waking me up (here is my progressive review) its beeping again and the alarm and I have continually tried to shut that dern alarm off permanently the only hope I would say is to open it up an cut the wire to the alarm itself but that would most likely void the warranty or would go against any return policy so at this point I am sick of it!!!! you seemingly can not shut off the beepin alarm permanently it is beeping all over again and the OFF indicator is not displaying after repeatedly pressing the button to shut off the lousy annoying alarm if you want to read on about what I wrote you are welcomed too ...O.K. it Looked appealing and the idea behind it seem reasonable.... The directions on how to program it did not pan out well.... It took many attempts to get it to change from heating mode to cooling mode which is what I bought it for... I did just what directions said finally it showed in the indicator that it was in cooling mode... had to take the batteries out several times to attempt to get it out of manual/on off mode in my attempt to get to cooling mode... after I set the temperatures I desired... then came the annoying beeping... the directions said to continually press the up or down button to shut the beeping sound off... I did that several times until it stopped and then it started again... finally I put it in a closet so I did not have to hear it... it was too noisy so at 4a.m. I held down the down arrow while it was beeping and did not continually press it.. the indicator finally came on that said OFF now lets hope that it stays OFF... I did not try to see how it interacts with the plug yet but for the amount of time that it takes to program it with the stubborn thing not responding as it says it would in the directions... I am not sold on this being a very good product in the mix of toting it around tryin to program it I also set the directions down somewhere ... I would have had the thing set up if it and put them back in the box for storage if programming it and making the selections for shutting off the beeper went right.... they should have put a separate switches on the remote for all of its bells and whistles if they were going to be so hard to get to.... It wont be until the heat rises above the set or run point that I will wither be not disturbed or unpleasantly reminded about how frustrating this remote is to program so that it will work silently and just do its job... and I haven'tt even paired it with or plugged it into the outlet that it controls which has the sensor in it that I have to install an outlet for at about 4 and a half feet high and not the normal outlet height which is just above the baseboard... that is not a place to get an accurate overall temperature for the room in need of heating or cooling and this is the model with the sensor built into the thermostat outlet... The one with the remote sensor costs $10 more... and I really wasn't sure about the effort it would take to have to program the remotes that came with these things.... seeing that they had an alarm was also a redflag to anoyance and I have installed enough programable heating/cooling thermostats with many other features than this one that seems to be unresponsive with options change from heating to cooling which are hard to get to show up on the indicators until you are about ready to quit... put it in the box and send it back!!! unfortunately this thing has to work... there is another model that is simpler which is sold here on amazon with a switch that allows you to select between heating or cooling mode and it has a dial type face with no led display and no remote... if this one doesn't work I will get that one... however it will require about twice the amount of the right gauge extension chord to get it to turn the heater or cooling fan on or off... but the job would have been done by now compared to the amount of time it took just to get the programmable remote to respond and get the indicator to appear and then set it to the desired operating range and then shut that dern alarm off!!! Finally I opened the case on the remote... the piezo electric beeper is the 1/4 inch black round looking componenet to the right.. without undoing any mother screws to the circuit board I decided to pull it like a tooth.. I do not recomend you follow my advice if you want to return this unit... I needed it for the bedroom and like the fact that it is one of the few units out there with as many options as it had... hard to get to and frustrating at times.. but we I have eliminated they annoying buzzer for .... those more adept at electronic repairs might have disassembled the whole thing and unsoldered the electric buzzer.... which has 2 leads to it... performance did not seem to be affected.. and I will update the post if anything happens... hope this helps someone and hope that the manufacturer/ seller is not upset by my advice cuase I knew once I did this I was not going to be able to return it... what also is really nice about this device is that it is backlit when you start pressing the buttons and right on top of the first screen that comes up which is like the home screen as soon as you put the batteries in it has set and run temperatures displayed... and also right on the top portion of the first screen it shows the current room temperature... in fact as you hold it in your hand you can watch it go up as your body heat from your hand affects it... and as I found with mine if you get stuck in a menu you can take the batteries out and it will go back to the lets say "home screen" and the set and run temps will be where they you set them... so as far s switching from F to C... or switching it from heating to cooling mode which to me was not to easy but finally got it... and finally coming up with a way to shut that dern beeper off permanently!!!! and it finally does not come on and beep again at the next heating or cooling cycle programmed setting once the thing meets the temperature... this is turning out to be a really nice device that hopefully will help me keep the temperature steady and constant by letting me run an intake cooling fan in my bedroom like a green house cooling fan and not get too cold this happens because other residents will crank the heat, or the house itself heats unevenly and my bedroom gets hotter than the other rooms...I hope that this review helps someone in their set of convoluted complexities of heating and cooling with whatever they are trying to use it for...

Like the title says it's great until it melts. I was using it with a space heater and the heater's plug is melted into the outlet. Pictures are of the internals, took it apart to try and get the plug out of it. Worked great for about 3 months then today had a plastic smell and was extremely hot. Tried unplugging and found it was stuck in the surge protector it was plugged into, melted that a tiny bit too. 15A breaker in the surge protector never tripped. The heater was always at least 3 feet away from the plug while in use, melted from the current itself. I would not recommend using this on any heater or ac, both would draw a fair amount of current and have the same issue. Not really sure what the use case would be if you can't use it for anything that uses a decent amount of power. Now back to trying to get my heater unplugged, hopefully it didn't ruin that plug...

I have been using this unit to control a space heater in my RV for two weeks now with absolutely no problems . I thought the directions were simple an setting the controller was easy , the power outlet is completely silent only a green light comes on when power is active . Its important to know exactly the wattage demand on a single breaker circuit , a 15 amp breaker is designed to handle 1650 watts maximum for short term use and only 80 % [1320 watts ] for continuous use . I use a Lasko 5307 - 1500 watt space heater , but having checked the power consumption with a power draw meter it actually only draws 1150 watts maximum on high not 1500 as advertised . Altho I do have another 1500 watt heater that does draw 1500 watts but for that I have installed a 20 amp outlet from the ac circuit to prevent the wiring from overheating . The only issue with the Digiten is it reads 2 degrees higher then my other thermostats but not a problem , I simply set the perimeters 2 degrees higher then my desired target tempts .

This works great, and it exactly does what we need to run our evaporative cooler. Turns it on when it reaches a set temperature and then turns off at a certain temperature.It is super easy to set the temps for the on and off. You can also easily set it to manual if you want to take over control with the on and off; that was an added bonus, and I love that feature.On the back of the remote, you can even mount it to the wall if needed. We just put it next to us on the couch, and it works great. The remote can be used quite a distance away from the outlet plugin.

The update is below my original review.You see that I have rated it 5 stars for temperature control, remote control and accuracy, but gave it an overall rating of one star. That's because I need to use it on a 1500W heater. That caused it to get so hot it would feel too hot to hold by hand. Worse, it caused the plastic casing next to one of the prongs to soften because of heat, and that compromised the electrical connection, causing it get even hotter.While it does turn on and off exactly when you need it, it cannot handle such a load, at least not to my experience.I don't know if the electrical circuit can handle the load. The casing, though, cannot.Update:I used the receiver and made my own electrical wiring around it. It worked fine. Turns out, the circuit could handle the 1500W heater.A friend of mine who is familiar with such products mentioned that the reason the product heated up could be that the screws on the electrical connections could've been loose. He mentioned that I could've opened the case of the receiver and tightened all such screws before starting to use it.It's too late for me to try that now. But if I decided to purchase another one, that'll be the first thing that I will do. I will check all electrical connection screws inside the receiver and then make a test run. I will let it run for a few hours and keep observing it whether or not the heating problem will occur again. I will only trust it to run overnight if it didn't heat up.I changed my original 1 star rating to 3 stars.

I use this radio remote thermostat to control a window air conditioner. I used to experience wild swings in temperature, because the thermostat that is built into the air conditioner measures the temperature where the air conditioner is, not where *I* am. But now the problem is solved: with this radio remote thermostat, the temperature is now correctly controlled based on where *I* am, so that I am always comfortable.Some brands/models of window air conditioners have a remote control that has a thermostat built into it -- but mine does not, and there is no way to add one. THIS radio remote thermostat serves as a retrofit for already-existing window air conditioners that don't have one either standard or available as an option. But actually, THIS radio remote thermostat is better: the kind that comes with the air conditioner is usually an infrared remote control, not radio; unlike radio, infrared requires a line of sight to the air conditioner, and must be aimed at it, therefore it must be either mounted or set down in some particular place, and positioned sideways, all of which might be difficult or awkward. By contrast, this RADIO remote thermostat can be placed anywhere convenient, and in any orientation.I bought a previous radio remote thermostat like this one, but the previous one had faults that this one does not. My previous one had a weirdly inaccurate thermometer, and the size of the inaccuracy changed depending on the temperature; THIS thermostat measures temperature accurately. My previous thermostat allowed a temperature range of about 4.5 degrees F that could not be controlled or changed, which is a bit excessive, though still a big improvement over the built-in thermostat in the air conditioner. THIS thermostat actually LETS YOU CHOOSE the allowable temperature range; I started out with 77F-78F, which this thermostat handles nicely, and then I settled on 76F-78F, which is still comfortable without wild temperature swings, but reduces the frequency of times when the air conditioner is switched on or off, thereby saving some wear and tear on the air conditioner. Another improvement: my previous radio remote thermostat turned off the display entirely, a few seconds after settings were changed; THIS one leaves the display on all the time, so that I can verify what temperature it THINKS it is, at all times.This radio remote thermostat COMPLETELY solves the temperature control problem that I wanted solved.

This unit is rated at 14a instead of 15a like the more expensive units so as long as you don't run it at 1500w you will be okay. You really should be running a space heater at 1500W all the time anyway I run my oil-filled at 600w to 900w it's safer and takes a bit longer to get warm but it's fine once maintaining.This with a fan to help move the air heats my basement no problem and turns the fan and heater off with one button I love it. been using it for 2 weeks with no problems.Update: The device lags turning on the heater sometimes leaving the room cooler than I like so I found I need to bump up the run/stop by 1 Deg F/0.5C to compensate for this. If you have it set to celcius it doesn't do 0.5C increments so you need to increase by 1C so you will need to decide if you prefer to keep it a bit cooler or warmer overall but really not an issue I went warmer because I like it warm!

Product does exactly what it is advertised to do, perfect for my older window AC whose thermostat is very inaccurate. Takes a little getting used to the settings but they do make sense! Would recommend this to others

Worked fantastic for a 500 watt window a/c unit all summer but went to use for a heater in the winter and it melted in two places and was likely near starting on fire. Luckily I was in that room when it occurred and noticed an odd smell along with the room getting cool when this device stopped working. I hate to think what could have happened had I not been right there. This should NOT be rated for 1500 watts. I found a similar one star review for the exact same reason as mine. Scary!!! .......I will buy another one for the window ac unit again but NEVER for any wattage higher than half of what it's rated for. ONE STAR because of the HUGE risk this can be to your home and family! Good luck!
