Telcel Mexico Prepaid SIM Card with 4GB Data and 250 Anywhere Minutes (LTE Micro)

At times I lost connection or did not have signal. I think, there should be some type of directions after installing the SIM card when you arrive to Mexico. This is my first time buying a SIM card. I thought I saw a message to extend the life of the SIM card, but I was not able to trace it again. I really want to extend its life.

Well all was said and done...pretty expensive relative to other options. But solid customer service.

No issues with data, voice, or service during a recent 4 day trip to Mexico City and Toluca areas. Installed SIM into a U.S. based unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Smartphone. Also allowed using the phone as WiFi hotspot for PC internet access along with a traveling companion's smartphone from Slovenia. One complaint is losing the remaining services on SIM that were paid for with purchase of card and not used.

We ordered three cards. All came and worked great in our phones while still in the US, immediately registered as Telcel sims. When we got to Mexico the network popped right up but the service did not work immediately because activation had not been scheduled for the right day. We sent an email to customer service and the issue was quickly sorted out with big apologies. Vincent with customer service has perfect English and is extremely helpful. The service and coverage has worked great for us here with very little loss of signal anywhere we go.Note one very important thing -- the data and minutes you purchase with the card will expire in 30 days from activation, no matter whether you have paid for the extended activation plan. That only keeps the number active, it does NOT let you carry over your data or minutes. You will have to recharge at least every 30 days no matter what. Most people will never use 4GB data in that amount of time. We used our phones for mapping, social media, Pokemon Go, etc. and still come nowhere close! Purchase more minutes/data later if you need it rather than buying a big amount up front.

I went down to Mexico for Two Weeks i tested sim-card before i left out of the country. upon arriving, it worked as specified i used up my 3 gb of data on a 15 day period. i was able to use google maps everywhere, whatsapp and facebook were free to prepaid users i didn't use up any minutes because i was using Whatsapp 24/7 it was awesome. would definitely recommend this simcard on your next vacation.
