New Zealand Tawari Honey, 1kg (35oz)

Very delicious. It was a little bit fermented when it arrived, but the taste was still quite excellent.

Not nearly as good as the Airborne tawari I got a few years ago (perhaps 5+ yrs). This one was very crystally, thick and whitish rather than clear yellow throughout. About 1/5 was clear liquid, the rest is thicker. The clear stuff tastes so much better.It's my understanding that New Zealand and Australia have had very bad honey seasons the last few years. I don't know if there's been any more tawari produced since a few years ago. I will be sad if humans have wrecked the earth so badly that we'll never be able to get more tawari ever.

Having bought the kamahi native honey before, I wanted to try this one next and I am totally convinced that the Happy Valley honey series are the best raw honey versions I have tried so far. The consistency is perfect for making tonic drinks, teas as well as spreading on bread for a refreshing breakfast.
