Best out of 7
So I tried seven of these little units and while I haven't been able to really get any of them to work with my s9 in terms of Fielding calls in any aspect, this little bad boy exceeds all of them in volume and sound reproduction. Much louder than the cable creation offerings @15, one of the $22 units, one $10 units, and one $17 unit. My big chagrin was that it didn't offer charging so I tried a couple of the units from cable creation that do offer charging- the hang down dongle and the little plug into your phone unit (which is sleek and nice looking), but neither deliver sound amplitude whatsoever. They do sound nice and clean though. The other four units we're about as useless. To alleviate my no charge problem I simply purchased a wireless charger base for the car; it comes with a nice flexible arm. I got it from home Depot but it's probably available on Amazon and it is the Scosche brand; Works pretty good you just got to make sure your phone is aligned with chargepoint or it won't want to charge so much. Little bit heat sensitive too.So over all this is my pic for a DAC it really does the trick, doesn't overdrive my speakers even with the added volume. You would think that it actually would overdrive them but I still approach about 75 to 78% volume without distortion and strangely enough that is the same point where I get distortion from the other units at much lower overall volume so to me that is quite the plus. I'm pretty anal about my sound and at the same time it's impossible for me to say yes from the backside so-honest review. And the best part is this thing was like 12 or $14. By the way it's built pretty well from what I can see already my kid has twisted it up several times and the tight kinks don't seem to affect it thank goodness.Thank you for making this product! 🔥❤️

Emits PAINFULLY LOUD static sporadically after 30 minutes of use while jogging with Galaxy S20
Although others have said this adapter does not produce static, after 30 minutes of jogging with a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, it sporadically stopped playing my music and produced painfully loud static. The only way to stop the static noise was either to unplug the adapter or completely lower the volume to zero with no change in the static's volume until my phone was completely at zero. While my music was still playing in the background, though I couldn't hear it of course, I could wait 20 - 30 seconds and usually start increasing the volume again without hearing static. It continued to return every 1 - 3 minutes while I still jogged. I checked all of my connections are they were securely still very much in place as both the adapter's headphone jack and its USB plug make very tight fits. Also, since the volume of the static is at least 2 or 3 times louder than my phone can produce at its loudest setting, it must be coming from the adapter and not my passive non-amplified headphones. I don't know if the motion of the adapter's cable moving while I jog causes a short circuit or something else but this device is unusable for any exercise where the phone and headphones are constantly in motion and will surely eventually fail even with only the slightest of repetitive motion. It should be noted that the USB-C AKG brand headphones that came with my S20 Ultra have never had this problem after jogging with them on several occasions. They just aren't ideally suited to use while exercising as they have no clothing or ear clips and do not stay in my ears for long.Update: I returned this adapter as defective and replaced it with the Samsung EE-UC10JUWEGUS found here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VF6NSZZ and the Samsung adapter performed flawlessly during a 30 minute run.

Good only for headphones with mic in them
The adapter is fine, but the DAC inside is expecting headphones with mic, so when I connected my music headphone (without mic) the sound was terrible and it kept glitching my Google assistant. If you are using with headphones with mic, it works great.

I ordered 4 Different Jacks
This is the only one that worked for my microphone to kill extra noise in the background. Thumbs up on this product. I have to say I was disappointed that the others wouldn't even allow for the Microphone to be picked up by my phone.

Real improvement
I wanted a cleaner output to headphones and stereo, this product works better than expected. No more pops or hisses, just good clean and slightly amplified sound. My Sony earbuds sound even better with this. Great useful product.

A little gem of a surprise! Worth every penny!
UPDATE: HOLY SH*T!!!! This thing is amazing! I connected it to my latest gen Mac Mini and I can't believe my what I'm hearing!!! For under $13, this product is a no-brainer MUST buy!I just got this today on my way to work. Unfortunately, I only have a regular pair of earbuds that came with my phone. HOWEVER, as soon as I connected these innocent earbuds to the Kript and played my usual music, it just feels like I'm hearing my music for the first time! If this little product can evoke this sensation using just plain ear buds, I can't wait to get home and put on the real headphones! I am reserving the 1 star for this initial review and will update later.

Don't Buy This!
The sound quality is bad. The plug does not let 3.5mm jack to fit all the way in and it has a lot of noise and the jack falls out. I tried several jacks to make sure. Don't waste you time or money on this.
