Hope I don't need them.
I bought these for my AC split system for hurricane protection because of the way the slabs sit on top of the ground. I have sandy SE Florida soil so the anchors went in easily, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing I'm still thinking about that but they did what is advertised; soil composition will dictate their effectiveness I suppose. I contacted the manufacturer about the exact coating and length and received a prompt friendly reply. He said, "They are 18" from bottom end to top of eyebolt. They are Dacron coated." According to Wiki, Dacron coating AKA Polyethylene terephthalate or PETE or PET, is a thermoplastic polymer resin, which I see why some have confused it with being galvanized because it looks and feels like it but this coating apparently makes this water resistant and is hard to the touch. You'll end up with about 14 to 16 inches in the soil, whether that works for your situation or not is your call. After I cable them up I'll decide if I want to do anything thing else. Good luck!

Amazing anchors !
First off if you’re not using a good impact you’re going to have trouble getting these in the ground don’t even bother with a ratchet or cheap drill . The anchors are a great quality ! People saying that they look like the paint is coming off and all that when they come in the box have obviously never seen things made in a fab shop that’s not paint lol. They are perfectly good anchors that you should be able to get in any ground if you know what you’re doing!

Easy to install
These things are excellent. It takes almost no time to install using a drill. I had to relocate a couple as I got the measurements wrong and they come out of the ground as easy as they go in. The original auger anchors needed to be put in using a long metal bar and would have taken far longer. I tried with one and gave up after about two minutes; It was too much hassle. These things take a few seconds. Will buy again when necessary.

They are like any other screw or screw type device in that ...
I needed to anchor a 10x10 shed and was looking for anchors. I read all the reviews and was a little apprehensive based on the negative reviews but ordered two sets anyway. I installed them in the Fredericksburg, VA area using a 12' ratchet. They are like any other screw or screw type device in that you have to apply pressure as you turn. You can't just turn them and expect them to go into the ground. It was a little work but they went all the way into the eyes and are solid. I am happy with the product and results.

Well Made & Designed
I bought this product to comply with local regulations regarding the building of a shed. I have not had the opportunity to use them yet as we are in a severe drought and I have to do something to soften up the ground a bit so the augurs can dig into the ground, but I have no doubt they will stand up to the pressure needed to get them into the ground and anchored to my shed.

Very quick and easy to install using a 3/8 impact and 6 point ...
I used 4 of these to anchor down a trampoline since it is in a high wind location. Very quick and easy to install using a 3/8 impact and 6 point socket. Took about 10 mins to install 4 of them and it will now take a tornado to pick up the trampoline now. I also like the fact the you drive these down just below the surface of the dirt and use a little anti seize on the threads so they can be removed to cut you lawn. Good idea, easy to install, easy to remove. These would also be very helpful for large tents or easy ups.

It actually worked in Missouri clay
So far so good. I am securing a set of 4" by 4" x 10' post that a sail is suspended between over a garden. The pole pulled over the first day after originally placed in ground using 3" mounting stakes. I am now supporting the poles with steel cables and these anchors. Like I said we will see how they hold up. I also attached tension springs at each corner of the canvas sail.

Excellent product
Exactly what was advertised. Very clever way to allow anchor to fit through a small hole after installation, but still able to bolt to a steel plate. Also makes for nice guy anchors for light duty Ham radio antennas. Quality product, fast delivery. Well worth the price. I am a very happy customer.
