LOVE IT!
Bought this for my 7 1/2 year old son (50 inches tall). He is mildly autistic and has balance problems. He loves to ride, but very afraid of falling. He started using his little brother's glide bike (seat up as high as it could go), but that was just too small. Now on his own big boy balance bike with the awesome hand brake and "trick" foot pegs. He has now balanced all the way down our sidewalk to the corner (mild slope)! He loves it and so do we! It was everything I hoped for.

After 4 different bike attempts we have found something that works, shocking results.
My 7 year old son is not what one would call the athletic, adventurous type. He is extremely risk adverse and we have struggled since he was 3 to find a way to get him comfortable with riding a bike. We have tried multiple bikes over the years (since he keeps outgrowing them) with training wheels and he still is terrified with the process and has not been able to succeed at riding. So we tried this bike in the hopes that he could at least quickly jump off when he was on it when he would fall down. We were blown away by how he took to this bike.On the first day of use we went to his elementary school on the weekend because of it being a large deserted area and it has a long gentle slope to it. We dress him in every conceivable safety pad possible because he has fallen so many times we wanted to keep him safe (and avoid the hit to our FSA at the emergency room). His first attempt he went about 6 feet before falling over, then about 10 feet on the second. Then on his third attempt he balanced the whole length on the slope, about 150 feet! I actually got a tear in my eye when I saw his extreme pride in his accomplishment. After an hour not only was he making the whole run without falling, but he was able to do zig zag patterns and push himself along with alternating feet to lengthen the run.The brakes work fine, the bike is very adjustable for an older child's frame. The craftsmanship is what you expect from a department store bike. The experience is awesome, I am glad I had my video camera with me that day.

Great bike for those less confident riders!
I got this bike for my 6 year old daughter because she was relying on training wheels and refusing to try to ride a two wheeler. I had a few friends whose kids had pedal-less bikes and they absolutely raved about them. Since my daughter was a bit older, I wanted something that could possibly grow with her- she is a bit of a chicken when it comes to risk taking so it might take a while to get on the two wheeler. This bike is great! It allows her to ride in our dirt driveway- something that is really difficult with training wheels. In just a few short days she was flying down the driveway and big hills, using the hand brakes, and leaving me in the dust. She loves this bike and the almost instant confidence she got was huge was well. The reason I didn't leave 5 stars were for two smaller reasons- the handlebars were really difficult to get into the fork, I ended up pounding them in with the end of the wrench I brought in and the directions sent were for last year's model and didn't always pertain to this years- nothing huge, but telling one to line up the spokes so they are going the same way when they spokes aren't angled anymore has one guessing if they put the bike together correctly. Other than that we are greatly happy with this purchase!

Worth Every Penny -- She Can Finally Ride -- Should Be Packed Better
It took our 11 year old a few weeks of on and off usage, but she can now ride her regular bike! We tried every other option over the years to teach her how to ride, but she was too scared (even before the training wheels came off). (It didn't help that younger sister learned without training wheels in a matter of days.) So if you have a child who is just too nervous, anxious, or scared, I highly recommend this balance bike. It was worth every penny, even for a bike we only needed for a few weeks. Wish we'd heard about this sooner! She has great confidence now. Our bike came with some of the paint scratched off near the foot rest, but that was due to damage during shipping. Inadequate packing on the part of the manufacturer is my only complaint.

She didn’t like that the bike could tilt to each side
This bike is durable and a shiny pink which our daughter loves. We have purchased two bikes with training wheels in the past and our daughter was too nervous to ride. She didn’t like that the bike could tilt to each side. It made her feel like she would fall off. The first day we rode this glider, she was rolling down the driveway within 10 minutes. We continue to use the glider to build her confidence and in a month for Christmas we are getting the pedal kit to add to the glider. This was a very good investment for us! We both have bikes and enjoy riding and we worried our daughter wouldn’t want to ride with us. Until now!

Excellent purchase
Fabulous tool for an older child to learn on. My 5 year old used this for 4 days and learned to balance. The nice thing about the 2016 model is that you can order a pedal kit additionally and convert this glider into a regular bicycle. Great for older/taller kids learning to bike.

Came damaged
The bike was fairly easy to put together. All the tools were included. However, the metal on the bike came dented and badly scratched up. I read another review that received a similarly dented up bike. The box had 2 holes in it, so one can only assume in happened during shipping. However, for the price point, the seller should really make sure their goods are packaged well enough tot avoid being damaged during shipping. Especially if it’s happening to more than one customer. My son likes the balance bike. The seat is easy to adjust up and down, just a lever that opens to move it, and closes to lock it. He also likes the foot rests so he has somewhere to put his feet while the bike is rolling. Mimics having his feet in the pedals.
