Great poles for the Money, Great follow-up service, Slight edge over Nianyiso Poles
This review is for The High Stream set of trekking poles. I’m going to compare them to a set of Nianyiso trekking poles I bought on the same day. Both pairs of poles: Fold down nicely, have molded grips, are made of light weight aluminum, have adjustable heights and wrist straps. Both brands come in under 11 ounces for each pole, so there’s no significant weight difference unless you add the holsters, then the Nianyiso poles come in lighter. The Nianyiso poles cost me $36.99 and the High Stream poles $44.99. (I was not paid or given anything to review these I had to buy them!!) I’m going to focus on the differences between the two brands. The High Stream poles have cork grips as opposed to EVA foam grips on the Nianyiso poles. Both grips are molded and are quite comfortable although there is a slight edge to the feel of the cork grips on the High Stream. The High Stream poles also have a secondary grip just below the main grip which is wonderful for ascending hikes. The High Stream poles extend and lock by pulling the upper extension out and a small lock button pops out to lock. No need to line anything up. The Nianyiso poles lock by pulling out the top section and twisting it to lineup the line with the closed lock symbol on the upper handle. The high stream polls are quicker and easier to extend and retract. Both lock securely. Let’s look at the finish. The Nianyiso Have a nice black finish all the way down the pole where as the High Streams are black at the top but have a shiny aluminum finish at the bottom. I love the Tactical black look of the Nianyiso poles, but in my opinion the silver finish is going to hold up better than the black finish when scraped over rocks and from normal wear and tear, they’re just gonna look better. The Highstream trekking poles come in very well constructed individual holsters that can mount on your belt. This might be handy for some but I personally prefer to put my poles on my pack so they are not a plus for me. The Nianyiso trekking pole,s on the other hand, come with individual ripstop nylon and mesh bags, which I very much prefer. Let’s talk about pole tips. The High Steam poles come with a mud basket and rubber tips only. The Nianyiso poles Include all that but add a snow basket and boot tips. Both Poles came with an instructions sheet. High stream Sent me an email link to a video shortly after I purchased these, even before they arrived on how to properly extend them. I thought that was a really nice touch and speaks to their level of service. So in summary High Stream better Grips, locking mechanism, finish and service. Nianyiso better accessories, bags, and price. I think most would be happy with either set. Even though the High Streams are a few dollars more, side by side I would go with them. One thing I would have preferred on either set would be shock springs. That would have been 5 stars! I hope to upload my video comparison/review soon!

Good Quality, OUTSTANDING customer Service
Not only are the poles of the highest quality, once I mastered the art of putting them together (it is easy, I was just overlooking the obvious - yank hard!) I I am completely pleased. There is also a good YouTube video that shows assembly. The company replied to my query within an hour and followed up a day later. Poles are lightweight, and fold down to a handy size, fitting into compact cases that easily clip on to a backpack. I am not a youngster (well over 70) and I was only sorry I didn't have these with me on a recent trip to Iceland where it seemed every other adult was trekking along with poles. Not only do they provide wonderful exercise, they also offer a good sense of balance and security.I have already linked a few friends to this site and have no problem recommending them with five stars. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRK9DCD/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

WITHOUT RESERVATION, THESE ARE THE BEST DAILY WALKING ASSISTANCE TREK POLES ON THE MARKET!
With permanent back and brain injuries, walking has become something requiring assistance. I've tried all the other sticks, canes, and trek poles, but these are the first fully-collapsible, compact and light (but STRONG) hiking poles I've encountered. They are priced as a great value as well, as other hiking apparatus of this kind can cost over $100 EACH with far less durability. The other poles also start to "Squeak" and deteriorate over time, Particularly those with shock-absorbing features. these poles also have the same Ice-grip carbon steel heads for winter conditions hidden behind the rubber tips, so with winter approaching I'll have the extra confidence they provide. I need and prefer quiet poles, and these fit all my requirements. Since I intend to live well past my current 59 years (with divine help), and may well need more of these, I just put in another order to lay back... I keep a set in my car and my walker which is used for work... I'm a tough daily user of these, and in the short time I've used them I'm convinced these are the best I've used, and recommend them without reservation!

Great poles, great service, great company!
I purchased these poles for trout fishing in the Rockies. I wanted a pole that was collapsible, could be worn on my belt and yet would be easily brought into use when I needed it. The big requirement was that the sections lock into place when extended. Whsn fishing those fast moving streams my other poles would invariable catch on a stone under water and pull apart at the worst time. This pole performed perfectly. These are high quality aluminum poles. I'm six feet three and weigh 250 pounds and these poles had no problem keeping me steady in swift streams. I lost the rubber tip on the pole on my third day because I forgot to take it off before entering the water. I usually take it off after using it to help hike to my favorite spot, but forgot. I wrote High Stream Gear on their website when I returned to see if I could purchase a replacement. A few days later a package showed up at my door with two new tips and baskets absolutely no charge. Great response to something that was totally my fault. The fact that there are two poles of this quality at this price is just fantastic.
