To give you an idea of my experience with audio and quality sound, I've owned 2 recording studios back in the day and engineered throughout that time period. I've been playing drums and singing in bands since 1979. Jerry Harvey (founder of Ultimate Ears and now JH Audio) was not only a friend of mine but also my sound man back in the eighties. I'm pretty sure when he invented multi-driver IEMs he would have never guessed anyone could make a 6 driver in-ear set to sell for under $500. Okay, now for a comparison in (Chi-Fi) sound reference I also own the KZ ZS10 Pros. They are great when used as inexpensive in-ear monitors while playing drums. For listening to music, they can be a bit harsh in the high end but the lows and sub-lows will rattle your skull. In a good way. Now, on to the KZ ZSXs. These are everything the ZS10 Pros are with even more clarity. Just a tad less sub bass and slightly less punch, but not by much. They've brought the mids up a bit and smoothed out the high end to present a beautiful, well balanced sound worthy of the model name "Terminator". When I first got these I handed them to my wife (who admittedly knows nothing about audio at all) and told her to play her favorite song. While listening to these through my BTR5 she started singing along (horribly off key BTW. lol) but by the end of the song she was crying. Literally, wiping tears from her eyes. She said I've never gotten emotional over hearing a song like that before. "I need a pair of these. How much were they"? she asked. That was a pretty good testament that these are not your everyday, run of the mill earphones. I'll continue to use my ZS10 Pros for on stage monitoring and use these ZSXs for listening to music. They sound fun and exciting and they compete with units costing many times more than what you'll pay for these. Could they be used as studio reference monitors? Nope. Do they compete with JH Audio's top of the line "Layla" in-ears? Not even close. However, these will surely make you smile knowing you've saved yourself about $2,600. LOL. No offense Jerry. The point is, I'm not sure how they can sell these for $52. They've come up with a nice, fun set of in-ears containing 6 drivers in each ear that sound much better than their price would lead you to believe. Well done (once again) KZ.
