David Bailey: NY JS DB 62 Hardcover – April 1, 2007

After seeing the movie I discovered that David Bailey had released a book about his 1962 trip to NYC with Jean Shrimpton. It was interesting to see the actual photos versus the movie. Both were very well done and the photography in the movie was excellent. Nice photography book to add to my collection.

This is a short book on David Bailey's work in New York in 1962. I like it and find it interesting. The production value (paper quality, printing) is top notch. Mostly in black and white with a small number of color shots.

I had to wait a few months for this but well worth the wait. Frequent updates along the way kept me informed. Super quality book and prints and all at half the price I have seen it elsewhere. The images speak for themselves.

This is a gorgeous book to handle, and the fact that it contains David Bailey's groundbreaking New York photo shoot with Jean Shrimpton means that the contents are equally unforgettable. A stunning book!

非常に多くの写真集を刊行しているデヴィッドベイリーですが、彼の本質的なファッションへの美意識が垣間みえる良作ではないでしょうか。タイトルは以下を意味しています。NY＝ニューヨークJS＝ジーン・シュリンプトン（Jean Shrimpton）DB＝デビッド・ベイリー62＝1962年超売れっ子になる前、若かりし日のベイリーが、ガールフレンドと憧れの地NYにて取り上げた、自由さと奔放さに満ちたショットの数々。と言っても、勿論プライベートスナップでは無く、上質なファッションフォトとしてしっかり機能している点が流石の一言。衣装もモデルとなったシュリンプトンの美しさと相まって、6０'S初期のモードを鮮烈に伝えてくれます。掲載写真数は27点と多くはないですが、構成上過不足無しと言った印象で個人的に物足りなさは特に感じません。一枚一枚が60'S好きには堪らない作品だと思いますので、オススメです。装丁も、タイトル文字と小口にシルバー箔が施されており、とてもクール！

a disappointing book of very few photo plates and no captions or narrative. Big hard back cover with nothing in it. grossly over priced.
