Really helps my dog!
I have a 7 year old labrador retriever who is terrified of storms/fireworks/other loud noises. We tried just about everything to help ease her anxiety, but nothing was working. I was skeptical about pheromone sprays, but got this in June 2022 to at least try. I was also skeptical the first time I used it because to me it smells similar to rubbing alcohol when I initially apply the spray, but that smell goes away after a few minutes and is then odorless. The difference that this spray has made for her anxiety has been incredible. When it starts to storm or fireworks start going off, I spray 8-10 squirts of this onto a bandana for her to wear. In as little as 5-10 minutes she is calmer, and the effects for her last for hours. I sometimes have to re-spray the bandana, but usually just one application is enough to get us through the anxiety causing event. Before we started using the spray she would be inconsolable during these times- hiding, intense shaking, and panting that was similar to hyperventilation. Now after consistently using the spray during stressful events, she no longer hides, stays lying down by us the entire time, and will sometimes even fall asleep! She also seems to associate the bandana with feeling better because as soon as she hears a loud boom she will go running to wait by where I keep it and is excited to put it on.While I'm sure this spray doesn't work for every pet, I think the main reason that this product gets complaints is because people use this expecting their pets to show 100% improvement. While it has worked amazingly for my dog, it isn't a cure by any means. She is still a bit nervous during storms, will sometimes flinch if there's a loud firework, and will occasionally shake/pant still (although far less intensely than before). But she is choosing to not hide during the stressful events and is noticeably more at ease. This is not a sedative product, so you will be disappointed if you go into using it with the mindset that your pet will have 0 anxiety. I went into it just hoping that it would help somewhat and have been extremely pleased with the results.I ordered the 60ml bottle back in June 2022, and have used 8-10 squirts for every storm/firework sounds/etc since then. I am just now almost finished with the bottle, so it does last quite a while if you aren't using it every day. It may seem pricey, but the positive effects it has had for my dog are well worth that price.

It works great!!!!!
I am a scientist and therefore a "prove it first" type person. I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. I have a small mixed-terrier that is afraid of thunder, rain, and flies in the house. Yesterday I tried Adaptil for the 1st time, following manufacturer's direction by spraying on a bandana and loosly tying it on her neck. She had heard the oncoming storm and was shaking and clinging to me. Well...OMG! As soon as the spray was on the bandana she called down, left my arms for a comfy spot on the bed, and was obviously no longer stressed in the least!I could not believe how well it worked! She was abandoned at 5 weeks and thrown out of a car in a bag with 2 siblings--so even though this is a synthetic hormone/pheromone, it must have brought her great feelings of "mommy-dog" bonding and relief. An hour later I noticed our kitten trying to catch a fly. "Oh no!", I thought! Here we go with the "save me from the fly" routine. (She had been stung by a bee in the house as a puppy and never got over it.)The bandana was off by then and she was in the dark bathroom shaking. I slipped the bandana back on--and whallah! She stoped shaking, calmed down, and fell asleep. The "boogey fly" was no longer a threat!I can definitely say this product will NOT work the same on all dogs, as their hormone/pheromone receptors in their brains differ. But for us--it was a God-send! Thank you Adaptil!!!

Seems to help with fears
I purchased this spray before the Fourth of July, because my dog really really hates fireworks, and because I live in the southeast where we have a lot of thunderstorms in the summer with lots of lightning and thunder which he also hates. I sprayed this on his bedding as well as on the bathroom rug because he likes to go hide in the bathroom, and it did seem to help; it seemed to be effective immediately. I have noticed that he goes to that bathroom rug more often now when he is a little bit freaked out and I think that must be because of the pheromone smell. For fireworks and heavy thunderstorms I put the full 8 recommended sprays on his bedding and on the bath rug. The effect is supposed to last about four hours and I would say that is probably fairly accurate—and it must have some lingering effect because of the way he goes back to that rug, even when I haven’t sprayed it recently. There is no smell to speak of. It seems to be innocuous and I haven’t noticed any ill effects on my dog. I believe that I will purchase this again after it runs out, but it seems like it’s going to last a long time.

Spray top not even secure
I don’t really know if this product actually works however I won’t be using it because the first time I tried the spray hub fell off and my puppy almost ate it immediately. This is dangerous. I don’t understand why you would make a product for puppies and not have the top securely fit so in my opinion, this product is unsafe.
