Mekhala Organic Roasted Sweet Chili Paste Condiment Gluten-Free Vegan

The sauce came out great. The price.... a body could complain. However, I was striving for less junk and more substance. Mission accomplished!

I didn't realize that the sambal is vegan until I received the product. I was a little apprehensive about the taste at first but after tasting it, I'm pleasantly surprised that it's so tasty and tastes so good! I think I'm going to put this sambal on almost everything!

used as directed on the meklala website. flavor is mostly heat. very little else. can taste sechuan peppercorns and the hot chilles but nothing else on the ingredient list. website suggested using less if too hot but then the flavor is diluted. ended up with a very hot bland watery soup. yuck! had gotten excited with some of the other flavored varieties and ordered them. hope they are not a repeat of the poor flavor in this product. would not purchase this product again. wish I had tried this one before ordering other products but got excited reading about the gluten free vegan organic products and ordered them before I tried this one. have learned my lesson.

The product arrived quickly and very well packaged (so no breakage.) But most importantly it was delicious! So glad we can enjoy Sambal in recipes again without worrying about the gluten and peanuts that were in the other product we used to use.

SO nice to have a yummy quick flavor punch to add to my dishes. Better than what i can find in my local stores.

Extremely spicy and does not taste like the Szechuan flavor you would expect. Do not waste $30 on this
