It works great, and has helped us verify that fibers are able to at least pass light. Also found a fiber where it was broken right at the connector, so it saved us from having to run the fiber, and then replace it. The switch, or rather the amount of movement to turn it on, off, and set to a blinking light could be a little larger. On position is on top, off in the center, and blinking on the bottom of the switch. Sometimes when turning the light off it goes right past the off position to blinking. Minor issue compared to the value it adds.

This is a great VFL. The light is very bright. The only down side is the cheap little flip cover that covers the light port when not in use. I've purchased 4 of these VFL's and the little covers didn't last a month on any of them. Just keep them in a clean container and clean them with a 1-click before each use and they work great'

I have used this 30mW VFL to find unlabeled fiber throughout our datacenters. It is bright enough that is shows through the caps, and through the sides of the jumpers. I have used it on SM and MM. The LC adapter works great. It has saved me a lot of time.

Battery better be full if you are going to need to leave it up for a couple hrs. Make sure you screw it together tight or the light will flicker or fail out. It's not a 30km light, it works up to about 9km which is about 30k ft which is still good. Very bright and easy to detect faults at shorter distances

I normally don't do any reviews but I feel like I owe this VFL one..This is by far one of the best VFL lights. I have always used my exfo light but finally gave out and decided to give this one a try. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and so far it's great. As a fiber technician I put this light to work every day on the field without any issues besides the bright light it provides it also has that cover for the switch to prevent it from turning on while in your tool pouch or pocket.

I found the red light locator very useful when I was working.Very bright.Just hope it has a better way to hang it, because one of its attachments tears quickly.This is just a small regret. I hope I can do better in the future.All in all, it was very good, and I did a good job

All is well with the fault locator, led, switch, dust cap, battery cap, all smooth and crisp functionality. My issue is with the case, it’s way too small for the fault locator to sit securely when worn on your belt. The Velcro overlap is only about 1/4” so it rips open without much effort greatly increasing the possibility of fall damage. This is my 2nd unit, no such issue with the 1st. I figured I’d just contact the seller for a replacement case but for whatever reason there is no such option here, neither is any included in the package. The only option is to return and repurchase. This is silly and a waste of time. If the seller manages to see this and contact me to arrange a replacement case, I’ll update. If not, then the rating is deserved.
