These are Thiara Winteri Snails. These attractive snails are great for adding some diversity and decoration to your aquarium, but they also serve some very useful purposes. They clean algae off of glass, plants, and decorations, they eat hair algae, and they keep your substrate clean and the correct color. They are totally safe with any fish, shrimp, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Hilarious if you have dwarf shrimp like I do - they love to ride around on the snails!

Cool little dudes the are very helpful because they clean up all the scraps. And they burrow in the sand i have in my tank, releasing gas pockets which are pretty deadly to the fish. They don't touch the algae but they go crazy for algae wafers (if snails can go crazy.) I feel like after I put out a whole algae wafer (which takes a few hours for the CPO crayfish,fish,snails, and shrimp to eat.) I always feel that they have at least 50+ babies the week after. They need hard alkaline water for their shell growth. Soft water will corrode their shell and eventually kill them. They eat just about any foods you give your fish and they are very peaceful. Do your research before adding them to your tank. Overall i recommend them as a interesting tank mate.

Snails off of Amazon. Who knew?
My husband ordered these on our shared Amazon account. When I got the "thank you for ordering..." email, I thought someone had hacked our account. :)Seriously though, he has a wonderful planted tank going, and as far as I can tell these little buggers are fitting right in.

Put these in all my tanks
They say they burrow and release gas pockets in sand. Can also move through gravel. I see them half buried in sand, on glass, plants. They are slow moving and will multiply on their own. You receive different sizes, colors light to dark. Most survived my Dwarf Crayfish (didn't know the little bigger eats snails). I like them.

Great snails
You get lots of them. They immediately went down in the sand and started stirring it and eating all the waste. I got a ramshorn with them which is a plus because I'm breeding snails now.

Got 10 a few months ago and now there's more little ones. Very good cleaners and don't bother fish or plants.

Order snails for the first time.
These guys are great. Threw in some extras and the invoice includes a cell number. We txt back and forth as I learnt a bit about snails. My tank has never been so clean.Thanks!
