Works great, remember to wind to 55 first and then back to time desired
This is a reliable timer. I tested it for the full hour and smaller increments and it is accurate. The bell rings if you remember to wind it up to 55-59 minutes first and then down to the desired time. The bell alarm is spring loaded so this step is necessary for the bell to work at the end. This one does make a loud tick tick tick tick sound (think 60 Minutes theme) as it is winding down, so I do have to keep it at a comfortable distance away when waiting for timer to go off. Other than that minor annoyance, it is excellent. I think it is a great value for the price.

Loud and nice size.
60 minute wind up timer. I use this when cooking. It's loud. Good size. If you don't turn the dial all the way over to 55 minutes and back to the number of minutes you want to set it, it will not work. That is the only thing I dislike about it.

Efficient and Affordable, but not easy to use
In a world dominated by digital gadgets, the simplicity and reliability of this timer are refreshingly distinct. This unassuming little device packs a punch, offering straightforward functionality without breaking the bank.First things first, let's address the elephant in the room: the operation. While it might not be as intuitive as pressing a button on a digital timer, once you get the hang of it, you'll appreciate its charm. To set the timer:1- You'll need to turn it clockwise all the way up to 55 minutes2- Then dial back counterclockwise to your desired timeWith no batteries to replace or digital displays to decipher, this timer is a no-nonsense solution for timekeeping needs. Its compact size means it won't clutter up your countertop or drawer, making it an ideal companion for any kitchen or workshop. When it comes to letting you know time's up, this timer doesn't hold back. Its loud ticking ensures you won't miss the signal, even in a bustling environment. In summary, it may not be the fanciest gadget on the block, but it gets the job done with efficiency and affordability.

Finicky to set.
Timer has to be rotated past 30 minutes and returned to a lower setting or bell will not sound.

Works as it should. Hubby uses for powdercoating.
Works as it should. Actually ordered for my husband. He does powdercoating and uses a timer like this. The fact that it happens to be black in color is an added bonus out in his shop.

Works Just Like It's Supposed To
This is the timer I grew up with. I purchased one of those digital timers and it is now at the city dump. For those of you that are having problems with this timer, READ THE DIRECTIONS! Turn the timer all the way till it stops, and then back it to the time you need. It is very easy to do. Perhaps it is because I used this type of timer from my early days (60s) but it works and it works well. Yes, it will only do an hour at a time, but it is much more trustworthy than the newer ones. I used a digital one and after a year, it wouldn't do anything but tell me the time - the timer stopped working all together. This one is tried and true.

Great
Great little timer . This is my second one . I occasionally cook at a skating rink and I needed a timer for the chicken. It worked great until someone dropped it so then I immediately ordered another one because it works so well ..and it’s loud so you can hear it …you just have to make sure you turn it all the way around on the dial then back to what time you want… works great ..

Does the trick!
The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars, is that the first timer I purchased was placed on the stove in close proximity to a burner. It melted. I don't every remember this happening with a timer before. But then, it is plastic. So, I chalked it up to it being my fault, purchased another, and now do not have anywhere near the stovetop. Otherwise, it is accurate and I can hear the timer go off if I am in the next room.
