Solid product.
Ok, these guys have a sense of humor. In asking for my review (which I normally wouldn't bother with) they said, "P.S. I have attached a dish washing tips guide for you as well. (Wow! Dishwashing tips? So exciting!)" Signed by Crista, the owner. And in that PDF (which was also pretty hilarious--and useful!) she signed it, "Crista, Owner & Director of Awesome." As a marketing guy of 15+ years. . .she's totally earned a review! Ha! It's clearly well made product. It didn't have any weird smells or whatever out of the box. I like the wider channels which clearly allow for better water drainage. (And yes, it totally holds at least 2 full cups of water like the instructions/wrapper claim!) Also, the scrubby thing that came with it for cleaning also is really well made.Never thought I'd review a dish washing mat, but darnnit Crista, you won me over. ;)

Well-made mat
I really like this mat. I bought it to replace the grotty old fabric/foam ones we had. It fits the space right by the sink very well (slightly deeper than our old mats) and does hold quite a bit of water without overflowing, which is great. The things I really like though, are 1) it shows dirt and muck, so you don't inadvertently put it away dirty (like the old mats with fabric), and 2) it is sturdy enough to roll up, and with a rubber band, to stand upright on the counter out of the way. I've not tried it for hot stuff yet, but I can't imagine it won't work for heat as described. The raised areas of the mat are solid silicone and solid enough to keep a hot pot or pan raised slightly above the lower areas, and away thus from the counters. The ONLY thing I might not like so much is that it's a bit fiddly to dry, with all the raised areas. But for me, this is a tiny negative only. The point is, once it's dry and stored, you don't have to worry about mold or mildew on it. I'd buy this one again, no problem!

Keep counters clean
We use this product under all the fancy coffee machines in our office, which is great because sometimes they leak and if these mats weren't under them, that junk would be everywhere. When dirty, we just slide them out carefully and give them a good rinse; the grooves help contain any liquid. They come with a lime green scrubber that gets the mats good and clean. I don't know about heat resistance. I do wish they came a bigger size.

Keep the Water Contained
I have to confess a love for anything named Tortuga (Spanish for Turtle) which was the initial appeal for this drying mat. I needed to replace a plastic sheet that was dripping water everywhere. This has effectively contained the messy drips, is easy to clean, and protects the counter as billed. I have run it successfully through the dishwasher too. Tortuga confirmed as a great point of reference.

I want to love this drying mat
I want to love this drying mat, but have noticed a few flaws that hold it back.First, the reservoir on the mat is too shallow. When I load this up with clean dishes, inevitably there is too much water, and some pours over the edge. Not in itself a huge deal, but it gets under the drying mat, which can get slimy.Second, the water in the reservoir always seems to pool, and not evaporate. If I do some dishes after dinner, and go to put them away the next morning, there is standing water in reservoir. I end up having to dry the drying mat.I really just want a drying mat that is low effort. At least when using a good absorbent towel, I can just hang it to try if it is too wet (or pop it in the dryer). This is a bit more of a production.

Multipurpose Task Mats
I purchased these accidentally. I thought I was purchasing another brand, but I kept them anyway as I liked their size and needed more for my kitchen . These have so many uses! I have used them as trivets and dish dryers as advertised. I have also used them as targets in dog agility training, craft mats for kids, colored easter egg dryers and I'm sure over time I'll use them for a lot more. I found putting them in the dishwasher wasn't good. Water seems to just pool no matter how I position them to allow water to cascade off. So, for me, they wash easily in the sink with soap, water and a wash cloth. They have become my go to mats. Also, they came two in a pack and I thought I was buying one. Bonus! Yes, these are a keeper and a winner. I highly recommend these for all but especially useful for moms. Great seller also a bonus.

Great for drying those dishes washed by hand
We had been using a microfiber foam mat but it got too wet, showed spots and didn’t hold up well to washing. And as others have stated, the interiors of cups, bowls, etc., did not dry well since there was no air circulation. I initially bought a silicone mat at a local retailer but realized it was too small for us so returned it and went to Amazon to see what was available. After comparing two others on Amazon, we chose the Tortuga. We like that we can hold the mat over the sink after dishes are dry and lightly shake the water off. We loosely roll the mat and put a medium size rubber band around it for storage. It is always dry by the time we go to use it again. And the design of the Tortuga mat allows for easy cleaning when necessary. Most of our dishes go into the dishwasher, but the silicone mat is great for those we wash by hand. Our original dish drainer and try are virtually never used now.

You may want to get two! I do!
Here's the thing: it is hard to say glowing things about a mat. What does a mat do? It sits there on your counter and lets you put stuff on it. But this mat does that just fine! I got it to drain a big electric skillet because I was sick of wasting paper towels. But I did not want one of those stiff things that are hard to store and look not so pretty if you let them live on the counter. This mat rolls up. The texture is pleasant while you roll it. It is soft but solid at the same time. Hard to explain. Plus this mat does dual duty. It is temperature safe up to 450 degrees, so you can also use it as a great big trivet. Neat, that!Notice: it is a flat mat, so if you want it to automatically drain into your sink, you will have to make adjustments. I just slide it over and dump the water when I am finished using it. It holds a good bit of water.
