Cute & colorful handbook of classic recipes for novice home bartenders
DESCRIPTION - At 6 ½ X 6 ½ inches and 140 pages, “Cocktails Made Simple” is a petite, colorful handbook that covers classic cocktail recipes. It is illustrated mostly through drawings and has only a few photos. The paper is matte except for the glossy cover. The handbook is divided into two major parts:• Part I (28 pages), “The Art of Cocktails,” covers bar-tending terms, tools, ingredients & techniques.• Part 2 (84 pages) covers cocktail recipes & histories, organized by liquor types: gin, rum, tequila, vodka, whiskey, brandy, sparkling wines, and liqueurs & aperitifs.• A Table of Contents, Measurements & Conversion Table, and list of websites are also included.MY TAKE - This is a cute beginners’ handbook that clearly explains classic cocktail recipes: margaritas, whiskey sours, mint juleps and Moscow mules, for example. It is meant for beginner home bartenders and stops short of including anything brand new, exotic or creative. I enjoyed reading about the history of some the cocktails. It would be a nice gift to go along with either a cocktail set or gift box of liquor and mixers.SOME MINOR ISSUES - I would have preferred the paper that makes up the interior pages to be more waterproof, instead of the thin matte paper used, which does not weather well near a wet bar. The book is rather stiff and does not stay open well when trying to read and make cocktails at the same time. The drawings of cocktail glasses get a bit repetitive, but they do aid in understanding how each drink is put together. The mini handbook could use a few more photos to change it up.Hope this information has helped. Thanks for reading my review.

Slightly disappointed
It is a fair starter into the cocktail making world, however, after buying this I felt there wasn’t enough in it and went and bought a different cocktail book. I bought it because it had such good reviews but I have to say I was a tad disappointed. Yes, it has helpful pages at the start with regard to cocktail making equipment but the recipes were a bit boring and scarce. Maybe I’m being harsh but the next book I bought had many more recipes and the same details on equipment needed but for a much cheaper price!!

Great instructions, but no photos
It would have been good to show a photo of the finished cocktail rather than only the instructions
