Everything I was looking for - just refurbished!
Just received this refurbished cuisinart microwave oven. I was hesitant to purchase something refurbished, but I've dealt with cuisinart customer service before with our coffee pot and knew they were easy and reasonable to work with if you have issues during their warranty period. I also decided to buy amazon's additional coverage which promises to reimburse me the cost of the microwave if anything happens to it. So, we'll see about that. It arrived on time, was double boxed, and came newly packaged in the cuisinart box. It was well padded which was great because it was pretty heavy. My neighbor even came by to tell me that our delivery person even dropped it on the way up to our house (thankfully in our yard and unfortunately on top of my flower bed!), but the box didn't suffer any damage and the microwave appears fine but I did let amazon know what happened. Out of the box, it's a beautiful microwave, and appears very sturdy. It comes covered in a plastic film which you're supposed to remove before plugging in, but then you're set to go. We've used it a handful of times now and it works perfect. The button options are super easy to understand, and I love the door handle as opposed to a press button for an opening mechanism. It's got a 30 second button for a quick reheat, which is perfect for me heating up a bottle for my toddler son in the middle of the night. I also love that it has a kitchen timer which allows you to time other things without having to turn the microwave on. The display lighting on the panel is great and easy to read and view from different angles in the kitchen. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase so far. We'll see how long it holds up, if it manages to last as long as our previous brand new microwave (2 years) with minimal use then I'll be satisfied. I couldn't bring myself to pay more than $100 for a microwave since most don't last but a few years now days, and since a decent microwave cost upwards of $200, I decided to give cusinart's refurbished products a try. I'm glad I did and will try to provide an update on it in a few months about how well its held up.Update: So, it's now 2017 (I purchased the microwave back in 2015)... and it's held up like a champ!!! We've not had a single issue with the microwave! I'm amazed at this fact. It works just as well as the day it arrived - no funny noises, no lack of heating power, the finish still looks brand new, this was a great purchase and we couldn't be happier!

Refurbished - Nearly Like New
This refurbished Crisinart microwave is just drop-dead gorgeous. At a glance it appears brand new. Looks great sitting on our new black/silver granite countertop. All metal. Lighted interior. Large rotating glass platter. Mixes well with stainless steel or brushed nickel appliances and fixtures. The large green digital clock is nicer looking than most you’ll find. This is a mid-sized countertop oven. Unless you have an excess of space or feed a really big family, I’d caution against buying anything larger. IMHO, this is the perfect size for a countertop. A smaller 900-watt oven served us well for the past 10 years. This is rated 1000 watts. So far cook times seem about the same.It does seem to emit a slightly louder sound level than some others we’ve owned. Suspect that relates to the all-metal exterior and interior. (Metal vibrates and transmits sound.) Everything’s a trade off. Personally, I’ll take nicer appearance over a lower sound level. I spend considerably more time looking at this than I do listening to it. Nice large control pad. For “express cook”, just hit a numbered key and it runs for that number of minutes. For more precise timed cooking, hit the “power” key once and than punch in the precise time. The manual explains this pretty well. On our polished granite surface the oven slid around very easily. Pulling the door open was a problem for that reason. I bought some stick-on rubber grippers for about $5 at Amazon (1” size) and they worked well. There is one barely noticeable defect. The back left corner (as you face it) appears to have been “dinged” a little. As we have it set up in a “kitty corner” position in a corner it’s very hard to detect this defect from anywhere in the house. Since the “ding” is hardly visible and the unit is in otherwise great shape, I elected to keep it rather than return. I’ve also seen this model at EBay in both refurbished and new condition. The refurbished was priced around $100 when I looked and the new at around $140-$150. I’m willing to pay a little more to buy from Amazon for their great customer support and ease of return if necessary.

Dented, missing parts, and unusable microwave
I was excited to get this microwave, but it has turned out to be nothing but a headache. It arrived with multiple large dents both on the exterior and the interior of the microwave (so bad that the rotating glass plate won't even fit inside). It was also missing two of the four feet on the bottom and made a horrible rattling noise every time it was moved. I didn't even attempt to use it because of the poor condition it was in. You might be able to blame shipping for the exterior dents, but not the ones on the interior. I am very disappointed that this somehow passed the Cuisinart inspection process. Someone was obviously sleeping on the job. Now I have to drive thirty miles and miss an hour of work to get this to a UPS return center. I definitely will never buy a refurbished product online again!

Works fine, easy to clean
This an OK microwave. The stainless inside is easy to clean and there plenty of room for large items and it even has the revolving glass plate in it to ensure even distribution. This unit is less power than most and I find that it takes longer cooking time to achieve the same results as others I've had, but overall it is pretty good.

Great looking microwave
Great looking microwave. I just unpacked it and set it up. Very nice. However, there is a large dent on the inside and it makes a weird buzz when it's on that seems separate from the main hum of a microwave. We're going to see if this pans out, but it's got me concerned.
