I love, love, love this book. I bought it to use during homeschool to teach my kids the importance of prayer and how you can move mountains with the faith of a mustard seed. I fell in love with it!! Not only does it teach history and reading, it teaches the children that some of the greatest events in history happened because of someone spending time on their knees with the Lord. It reminds you that prayer is a powerful thing and not to be taken for granted and that praying every day and reading God's word can not only strengthen your relationship with him but it can change the course of history and your life...I would recommend this book for anyone young or old!!!

Excellent book. Kids need to read this. Parents and teachers need to read and share this. Goyer has chosen some well-known giants from history, sharing their lives, their faith and how reliance on God changed not only their lives, but also changed the world. Today, kids get a version of history in school devoid of the faith that shaped lived and nations. This book shows the whole story of such notables as Constantine, St. Patrick, Florance Nightingale, Helen Keller and so many others. Pick up this book. It is well worth the read. I'm buying more to give as gifts.

Each chapter is about a person (or a nation) whose fervent prayers helped a major change in history. Geared toward high schoolers, you can even hear the author's voice as she home-schooled her own children. From Constantine in the year 312, Martin Luther in 1521, John Eliot in 1646, Sojourner Truth in 1826 to Mother Teresa in 1922 and the British people during WWII in 1940, each chapter includes their stories, including their own words, plus "Something to Think About, a related Bible story, and how it could impact lives today. Notes at the end include where to learn more about each person or history.

While the style and the format of the book is rather simplistic (I didn't realize it was meant for younger audience), it is very insightful. This little book is a powerful testimony to the fact that history is in fact His story and that God is deeply involved in human affairs. Great teaching tool for home schoolers and beyond.

I really enjoyed the simple history presented in this well written book. It is easy to read and entertaining.

It is a blessing to read about how God moved the people to pray,then see how God answered the prayers. This helps to me to pray more & trust God’s answers.

Interesting to read historic accounts and results of prayers.

Love anything by Tricia Goyer! Always thought-provoking.

Helpful book for children aged 10+

This book uses examples from different people across the centuries, to show the effects of what happens when you put your trust in God. It's a great introduction for preteens, even teenagers, and I will even say adults, to learn about the different situations these well known people were in. I learned quite a few things. I never knew that in WW2, King George incorporated a national day of prayer, to address their great need for deliverance at this terrible time. The British people showed up and congregated even in the streets, and lifted up their voices in unity. Soon after, within a few days, victories started happening. And within a couple months, the war was won! Wow! So awesome! I love hearing testimonies of God's powerful nature. This book is a great implement to spark anyone's faith, and one I'll be passing on to my kids for sure.

This was the perfect gift for my daughter in love. She was thrilled with it. Plenty of information and interesting facts kept her capitvated. Thank you!
