I saw a couple of reviews about the crease in the center of the mat when it arrives. As you can see from the photos, it’s very simple to get rid of the crease. Simply fold the mat the opposite direction of the crease and roll the crease back-and-forth several times firmly, it disappears about 98%. The rest of the crease relaxed over the next five days. My cats love this sissal mat almost as much as I do. My main reason for purchasing this mat was to get rid of the little cardboard pieces that they shredded everywhere out of the typical box scratch pads that all of us with cats have used. They weren’t too sure about scratching on what they thought was a rug until I put some catnip on it and then they went right after it. This actually looks like a beautiful rug and I don’t need to be careful To step around it in the middle of the night when I’m walking in the dark. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this Sissel mat. It’s GREAT, in function and appearance!

My cat gravitated right to it and immediately began to claw! It adheres to the floor/carpet. Sprinkle a little catnip and your cat will roll and snuggle on it. She and I and my sofa love this mat.

I have 2 large,old cats and they both fit on this sisal carpetAs soon as I put it down,my big cat was on it, enjoying it. They both love it.Ps: I just got another ,just in case,they decide to nap separately...lol

My 2 cats sometimes scratch the rug, so to prevent this I tried this product on that spot. My cats don't react to catnip, so I didn't really have a way to get them to start scratching on it. I tried to show them many times, how to scratch on it, but they honestly were freaked out by it and one of them wouldn't even walk on it. Also tried rubbing a piece of clothing to get our smell on it, but nothing worked - ended up throwing it out when the cat scratched the rug right next to the mat

I'm not a kitty !! So I can only go off on how my kitty's react to something new to them. I'm happy to say that they all love, love, love it. Especially if you sprinkle with catnip. I would definitely recommend this.

...if you are looking for a cat scratcher. I purchased this product because one cat uses the sisal tower, and the second cat used the corrugated cardboard whale which created a 24/7 daily mess. So that thing had to go! Neither cat uses this for claws; it has become a resting mat when they don't purch in the tower or rest in their individual bed. Additionally, when they first attempted to use the mat, their claws became stuck in the sisal. Because it is placed on a rug, it doesn't slide.

First off, my cat doesn’t know how to be a cat. Doesn’t use any cat scratchers/cat trees, doesn’t chase a laser pointer, doesn’t even meow...just when I thought she was broken I got her this scratching pad. And now it is confirmed that she is sort of not broken - she loves it.

This mat is well constructed and does not curl like others I have purchased. Cat took to it immediately!
