Overview Constant is the new online brand owned by Scale Manufacturer Camry. This Constant digital hand dynamometer is engineered as a professional training device for hand grip strengths suitable for any doctor's office, physical therapy clinic, engineering lab, or the gym. -Adjustable center knob allows the device to be adjusted for different hand sizes and preferences. -19 definable users with options for gender and age to store, along with the ability to save and recall test results for each user. Compares individual test run for each of the 19 users, and displays the incremental increase, or decrease from the last record. Each test run is rated "weak", "normal", or "strong" based on age and gender data entered for each user. -Easy switch from lbs. to kg. at any time, including for last recorded data. How to Use 1. Remove the isolation tag from the battery case; 2. Press (ON/SET) button to turns on; 3. The middle two buttons (ARROWS up/down) allow you to select a different user. Then press (ON/SET) button to cycle between gender and age of the selected user, and edit the values using the arrows. 4. When you are ready you can hit the (START) button to test your hand grip. 5. Now if you press (ON/SET) button, it converts between LB / KG. 6. While squeezing, it shows the amount of force you are currently squeezing, as soon as you let go it shows you the max/peak of what you squeezed. 7. Press the (ARROW down) button if you want to save the result, or hit (START) button to retest. 8. After you test your grip, and the max result is displayed, if you wait 6 seconds it will then tell you how many lbs/kgs more/less you've done in comparison to your saved result.

20-25 kg off from professional dynamometer readings
I go to occupational therapy every two weeks following elbow and hand surgery, so I purchased this product to test my strength as I do exercises between OT sessions. I am very disappointed because it is wildly inaccurate. The $300+ dynamometer I use in my OT sessions shows my average strength as 30kg in my affected left hand and 54kg in my unaffected right hand... This device shows 10kg and 21kg, respectively, which would be the strength of a 12 year old child.Cheap junk - you get what you pay for.

As advertised and works good.
This Dynamometer is a good value, but it's a cheap version of what you will find in a clinic. It has plastic construction and a digital display. The buttons and display function properly, and this item works well for what I purchased it for (hand strength therapy).

Not as it should be.
Measures grip okay, and is a good idea; but the software for choosing User, storing readings, recalling readings was so flaky on the unit I received, I am returning it. Could be a good product, but did not work as advertized. Do not recommend it until control functions are implemented better.

Works perfectly
I needed a dynamometer ,as I am a therapist working in home health. I keep it in its box and find it to be reliable

Disappointed with this.
I found the product confusing to use and I did not feel the test results were reliable. I was disappointed with this product.

Nice Product
There are some interesting theories about isometric grip exercise lowering blood pressure. I'll see if it works!

Cool Product
I am not sure if this item is accurate, as I have no way to test or calibrate it, but assuming it is accurate it's a great way to measure your grip strength. 4 thumbs up.

Solid, Accurate & Excellent Value For Money!
The images here make this look a little plasticky, and to be honest I wasn't holding out much hope of it being a good purchase. When I received it though, I was quite impressed, because this grip tester is heavier and more solid than I'd expected. It works well too!THE POSITIVES* Easy to use & accurate (+/- 0.5kg)* Adjustable grip width to suit hand size* Surprisingly robust for the price* 18 user memory* Extremely useful in strength training* Doubles as a grip exerciser* Good for evaluating general health in the elderlyTHE NEGATIVES* I'm a pretty fussy reviewer and I can't find any!My reason for the purchase was needing to know my grip strength, prior to ordering a grip exerciser to strengthen my hands. Now that I've used this tester a few times I realise that it easily does the same job, with the added bonus of instant feedback on progress! The handle is sprung and comfortable to use, and the 90kg max measurable load is enough to satisfy the needs of most. Consider - the lifetime maximum grip strength for a male is during his late 20's, when a reading over 57kg rates him as "strong"This device is very simple to use. I fitted mine with two rechargeable AAA Eneloops, and the first job after switching on is to input your data - user number, sex and age. By doing so, it allows the machine to rate your readings as weak, normal or strong, according to statistical performance norms, which are also shown on the instruction sheet. With up to 18 different users an entire sports team could track their training progress on one machine without needing to input their data every time. To get a reading simply turn it on, select your user number, press start and squeeze! Your maximum reading for that attempt will then appear on the screen for 30 seconds after you finish. Simple.I've since discovered that research has shown grip strength is a strong correlate to overall health in later life. It seems the greater grip strength we can develop earlier on, the more we have in reserve, as a buffer against disability. This is because muscle mass - and strength - gradually diminishes from our late twenties onwards. It's why I'm taking action now, to keep myself as strong and fit as possible in future! This is one of those rare devices that most people have never even heard of, let alone thought of buying, but which would be beneficial to just about everyone. If this has been helpful, I'd be hugely grateful if you could let me know, by hitting the button below. Many thanks :-)

I bought this as it was suggested on the BBC's 'Trust me I'm a doctor' that it could reduce blood pressure if used 3 times a day at 30% of one's maximum. I've only been using it for 4 days so it's too early to know if this will be effective but It looks quite well made and was delivered quite quickly considering it was sent from China. If I remember I will update this review in 3 months time on whether my blood pressure has been reduced or not.

Get a grip!
Arrived when promised , well packed and nicely presented in a plush lined box. Bought this to test my grip after watching the TV programme about the 4 year old children at the old folks home. Pleased to say that my grip is OK. The meter works really well and is easily adjusted to suit your hand size. It can be programmed for several different users so you can individually keep a check on how you grip is improving or otherwise. Appears well made and looks like it will last for some time. Well pleased with my purchase.

Good
I saw this used on the programme Trust Me I'm a Doctor, where you pulled 30% of your maximum ability for 2 minutes at a time several times in a row just a few days a week and it lowered your blood pressure by 16% after some weeks. I assume it's doing me some good! I find the controls a bit awkward and difficult to understand, but I can do the basics fine. It must be working as every time I use it my heart rate goes up, so it must be giving me some exercise!

Easy to use
I ordered this on 4 September after watching Trust Me I'm a Doctor. The use of dynamometers improved the blood pressure of participants in a fitness experiment. It arrived today, all the way from China. It looks like the ones used on the programme, as far as I can tell. Two AAA batteries needed. It is easy to use and I hope it will have a beneficial effect on my BP too.
